It's always a risk I take with coffee of any sort. Being the picky consumer I am, I too often have to put up with shoddy coffee and crap chocolate.

Dose is the most magnificent homage to the art of coffee. A small but perfectly formed shop containing a beautiful espresso machine and a passionate advocate of the coffee-makers art.

The Qype barista throwdown was fun but behind the fun was a message - life is too short to dring bad coffee or settle for scalded milk in a cup with over roasted beans and burnt coffee.

Dose is where you need to go for coffee. Dose is where you need to go for espresso. Dose is coffee - dose is passion - dose is desire -...

Coffee lovers rejoice, for this tiny cafe near the Smithfield Market treats coffee as a special gift to the energy-deficient workers around the neighbourhood. They don't completely embarrass you for ordering a cappuccino, and are happier knowing you've ordered another dose of espresso to be able to actually taste their coffee beans. They encourage the reusable coffee cups that have popped up around town, and will knock off a bit of the price whenever you use it – even if the cup wasn't bought there. There's always a new batch of beans on offer to pop in and try. Look for...

Very disappointed to see that even today with sheer knowledge and support available from roasters that the coffee shop like this one ruins the image of specialty coffee. I walked in here after seen the cue and then the bags of square miles stacked on the shelves. Boy what disappointment I didn’t think to as if they did single shots because you don’t sell single shot specialty coffee not to mention they have larger sizes imagine drinking single Shot in 12 oz cup hot dishwater. Get your act together curb your greed. Two stars as the cashier...

I think this might be my favourite coffee shop ever ! One of the best cups I’ve had and the funniest interaction with the baristas given it was rush hour - the line that extends all along the shop and onto the street is testament of the good coffee. The pain au chocolat was also delish. The playlist they had on at 8:15 am was so rogue I loved it ! Who doesn’t want a some rock and roll to start the morning If the store was open on weekends I’d definitely be here every Sunday !

Good batch, good espresso, good milk drinks. Solid Red Brick and tasty guests. Impressive workflow for morning and lunchtime rush. A throwback to your favourite speciality spot a decade ago complete with service ranging from friendly to laconic (a good thing) and routinely excellent tunes. Notable staff retention. Slept on in conversations around London’s best cafes. A near daily fixture for my year working in the hospital around the corner, will be missed.

Overlooking the ‘rump-side’ of Smithfield Market, this measured small ‘Dose’ delivers a coffee wallop. A small selection of the pastries/lite bites in pocket space, serving a commendable ☕️ coffee. The staff are capable and satisfactorily detached, not necessarily a bad thing.
