Popped in here on a Saturday evening having heard the hype. It was absolutely packed, but we with some patience and expert pub manoeuvring, we found a seat. Pizzas took 40 minutes to come but to reiterate, the place was absolutely packed, so this was to be expected. We absolutely LOVED the pizza. Our previous favourite London 🍕 was the Wickerman at SoDo. But this is a very, very different type of pizza, so it's not a straightforward comparison. This one is much crispier. But this isn't just a well done or overcooked pizza. It's tricky to accurately describe the experience, as you bite into it, but it collapses gently, rather than being brittle and overcooked. Not a clue what they're doing with the dough here, but 🎩s off to them. I think the toppings could possibly be better. But I'm scraping the barrel to find feedback. We'll be back. 🤤

I think this is my new fave ever pizza in the UK. And it’s definitely top 5 of all time (which includes pizza in NYC such as Lucali’s). We had a standard Marg and also a Jode. Personally I LOVE crispy NY style, so I’m a bit biased here. It was crispy and crunchy without being over done. But what really blew me away was the flavour. Possibly the tastiest pizza I’ve ever had. The combination of nduja and stracciatella with some honey was unreal. Honestly caught be by surprise how good it was. The Marg was super tasty too for such a simple pizza. We got to Spurstowe bang on 4:30 and had about 25 min wait for pizza which is good. By 5pm it was heaving! So be there early. But they clearly have a smooth operation going because the pizzas were flowing. Anyway, this was special. Not overhyped at all.

I have to write a review for this place because I was so impressed with the pizza at Dough Hands. It was honestly so delicious with a nice crispy base with quality ingredients and flavour, probably one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had in london. The pub it is located in is very relaxed too with lots of seating and great alcohol choices. There is also outdoor seating too. I’m already thinking about my next pizza trip here. The pictures speak for itself!

Saw these guys on Topjaw (a social media food review channel) so I thought yeh looks nice let’s give it a try. It’s clear to see they are just not ready for that level of exposure. The pizza’s were absolutely fantastic, probably the best in London.

However the operation was just a massive fail. When we got there it was a 45 min wait for a pizza so we scrambled around had a beer finally saw someone leaving and got jumped to get a table. We then noticed they changed the sign (half hour after ordering) that they changed the sign to 60min wait for a pizza. At this point we thought, that’s ok we had ordered before that time so ours will be 45 mins no worries. Our food arrived around 1.5 hours after we ordered - which for a pizza is far too long.

During this period we saw the chef who had been featured on this social media review channel - pulling pints clearing the table cleaning the screen of the till!!! Now it’s not like they were understaffed no no, plenty of staff were around for such a small pub.

Sorry I don’t mean to be rude or disrespectful but you have got a tiny backed up kitchen full of orders up there and you are out here cleaning the till screen and pulling pints, get in that kitchen and clear the backlog up we don’t wanna see you out here pulling pints and cleaning a till screen or cleaning tables. Customers wanna know that you are in that kitchen going hell for leather trying to get the orders out in time. Don’t go here when you are hungry because they just don’t know how to deal with a busy time and...

I visited Dough Hands yesterday to order a pizza for takeaway. I walked 20 minutes to get there, only to be told — after waiting 10 minutes at the bar — that they weren’t taking any orders at that time and to come back in half an hour. Fine. I didn’t want a drink, so I stood outside and waited.

After half an hour, I went back in to place my order. I waited another 10 minutes by the bar, trying to be noticed, and then was told again that they were too busy and I’d have to wait another half an hour if I still wanted to order. No apology, no courtesy, just a flat, dismissive response.

What really annoyed me is that I could clearly see tickets going through to the kitchen. So they were taking orders, just not mine. It felt like a complete lack of respect for customers. I honestly felt like a fool being told and expected to wait over an hour just to order a pizza for takeaway.

I won’t be coming back, and I wouldn’t recommend Dough Hands to anyone. The service was disorganised, and frankly insulting....
