PLEASE IF YOU ARE IN GROUP DO NOT GO, AS THE CHEF CAN NOT MAKE YOUR ORDER PROPERLY AND YOU WILL GET BLAME FOR IT. THE CHEF WILL BE STRESS OUT. On Tuesday 06/08/24 about 19.30 or 20.00, which 5 days ago. Myself and my wife with some of our family and friend ( we were in 7 people), Which one by one of us went to order as we payed separately. There was a gentleman which helped us with the order (with hat, long brownish beard and tattoo on his harms). We received our orders with some mistakes, such as wrong only fries but burger right for one of my family member, and later on we got to know that order was for someone else, and the lady provided a new chunky fries. Then only and one of our friends mentioned no onion on the burger, they did not get it right twice, as on the second time she removed it herself. After other of our friends was waiting for his other for more than 1 hour, which then the gentleman, which took our order did not believe and forced him to show the payment, which proved him wrong, and later provide the order. At the end, which ruin our night, was when the gentleman came back to us and giving us a lecture by saying this to us, I HAVE WORK FOR THE PAST 19 YEARS, YOU GUYS SHOULD BE TO MEMORIES YOUR ORDER, AND SHOULD NOT ACCEPTED THE ORDER IF IT NOT YOURS, BECAUSE YOU ARE STRESSING OUT OUR CHEF. we was stun as the food was brought to us, as it was our first time coming to this pub and we do not know how the burger looks like. My family member, which got the wrong fries, said to him that she received the wrong fries, the gentleman said that she should not have accepted the order, but the burger was right, we wasn't sure if there chunky fries look like that. I do work in a place which customer service is crucial for us, but I'm not sure in this place as the way the gentleman was standing while speaking with us by lying on the entrance door, which body language shows everything, the tone of voice and the way he express and blaming the us, the customer, very rude and unprofessional. Unfortunately, we do not feel comfortable enough to come back again as the way the gentleman shows...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHadnāt been in for a while and since the name change but thought Iād go in but with reservations, as itās always been pretty ordinary. Guess what, they didnāt disappoint, it was worse than ordinary. The lady behind the bar with glasses is so slow, that at one moment I thought she had actually died mid pour, thankfully she reanimated herself (not her smile though) like Dr Who. She had all the charm of Rose West at my motherās funeral. There were about 3 people in the queue and it took 15 minutes to be served a lager beer, in a boiling hot pint glass fresh out of the oven. Do they not realise that hot pint glasses make hot lager? She filled it up so much that itās sloshed all over the counter and my shoes. And smiled almost with glee at her antics. By which time another bar man appeared to serve, precisely no one. If he had appeared from his cupboard of onerism somewhat earlier, we might not have to wait so long. Judging by the filthiest and sticky bar tops and floors, this was not the first time a sloshy pint had been served and the invention of the mop and cloth have clearly not reached these parts. I am wracking my brain for a redeeming feature and realised that perhaps the only thing was walking out and being delighted to find I still had a pulse. This is not hell in pub form, but itās...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe went for dinner before going to a show at the Hammersmith Appolo. I had booked a table online for 7.30. Their booking system is a bit clunky but it did the job. Took 16 hours to get the confirmation to say my table was actually booked which at the time felt ridiculously long but on reflection doesn't really matter. Although there are free online systems that could solve this issue overnight (simpleerb is a system I used to use)
I was running late due to the trains and gave them a call. Tristan answered, thanked me for letting them know and reassured me he could keep the table.
When we got there we were served by Tristan (who answered the phone) he could see we short for time and expedited the drinks and got an order taken quickly. I'm guessing it's a fairly common issue they have due to their proximity to the Appolo.
Our table of 4 ate a range of the burgers and a hot dog. The food came out quickly and was piping hot, obviously cooked to order. It was a visual treat and everything tasted fantastic.
I asked for recommendations on my drinks and was very happy with the suggestions which both hit the nail for taste profile I was after. The beer lines are well kept and the beer presented as expected from such a beer focused bar.
All in all a great dining experience.
