During a recent visit to Eat Beirut, our experience took an unexpectedly disappointing turn. Initially, the ambiance of the restaurant promised a delightful afternoon, but the service we encountered was startlingly out of sync with the setting. Our choice of wraps was met with the surprising revelation that none were available, a minor setback had the situation been handled with a bit more grace. However, the waiter, who initially presented himself as a gentleman, seemed unwilling to offer alternative menu options or engage in a constructive dialogue about our dining choices. Despite our efforts to maintain a cordial atmosphere, acknowledging the stress of managing a restaurant single-handedly on a quiet Saturday, the interaction only deteriorated from there.
The most perplexing moment came when, upon inquiring if the establishment preferred us to leave, the waiter affirmed this was indeed the case, citing orders from his boss. Our request to discuss this further with the manager was met with the information that they were not present. This series of exchanges left us feeling unwelcome and somewhat discriminated against, a sentiment far removed from the hospitable reputation that often precedes dining experiences in the city. The incident left us not only without a meal but also with an unsettling sense of humiliation and a bundle of unanswered questions about the motives behind the waiter's behavior. It's an experience that, unfortunately, will linger with us for all the...
Read moreHaving seen some good reviews and considering it's 4.8 rating we decided to give this place a go as we were going to watch a movie not long after - in a nearby location. The ambience and decor were lovely and the staff were very friendly and hospitable. They were generous with the house made chilli and garlic sauces provided with the okay starters we had, however that is where my compliments seize. The three of us girls decided to order the mixed grill thinking we could share it as we have done many a time at similar restaurants. This time though it was not to be the case as we were left shocked at the size of it upon arrival. We actually asked the waiter if we could have another portion of the mixed grill but upon tasting the food we decided to cancel the order. The lamb was really bloody when it arrived on our plate (we had to ask for it to be recooked) and the other piece of lamb which resembled a kofta was incredibly small and shriveled - we actually couldn't believe they served it on the plate. It was no bigger than my index finger! There was also chicken included in the dish which like the lamb lacked flavour and had not an ounce of salt on it. The dish was £18+ which in my opinion for the size and quality was not worth it. We opted not to pay the service charge and we were questioned why this was the case and I did let them know I did not like the meat and it...
Read moreI ate here as soon as we were allowed to eat out after the easing of restrictions as I love Lebanese food .This is a new local restaurant . I was delighted with the choice of food, excellent quality of fresh ingredients and very professional cooking . I was so satisfied with the initial experience I engaged the restaurant to cater for a family party for my brother's 70 th birthday that we held in my garden for 12 adults and 3 children in late July. All my guests were bowled over by the quality of the food and enjoyed it immensely .I ordered a very broad selection of grilled meat , chicken ,vegetable dishes , fattoush, rice etc . The other point which impressed me was the two brothers, Hussein ,front of house ,and Hassan , chef ,,helped me with ordering , a good varied selection and the right qty of everything . They were very attentive and it helped me host a great party .
They delivered everything at the appointed time in appropriate foil containers which kept hot food hot and very generously added humos , flat breads , dips and sweet cakes all for free . I will definitely use them again and eat there regularly...
