Been here a few times and it's losing it's spark. 1. The service is not great, no one checks back if your food is alright or if you need anything else, understandable as it is not a fancy stablishment. 2. Music died out Mid visit and no one restarted it, so we just sat there in silence as the atmosphere just died out. 3. Food quality, now this is the key factor, (Anticucho and the Duo marinero) were decent and enjoyable, however the Lamb main and the Chicken Mostro main where just terrible. The Lamb was pure bone, this was highlited and then we were given another Lamb piece, which was clearly just Microwaved and hard as a rock. The chicken dish lacked flavour and the rice was still uncooked. Deposite making this known to the server as we were paying, all we got was an unapologetic "sorry". The lack of customer service is saddening and this was on a Thursday night. I suppose that judging from the other reviews, either just visit on a weekend and hope for the best or this place is just losing its touch and standards.
We first tried to visit the one in the old Kent road first, but that one is even worst, as we walked in, there was no clear staff, no inviting atmosphere and the place smelled, to top things off, the guys there could not be less bothered to serve people, so we just left without even trying anything and headed to the first main restaurant, just to be sadly disappointed.
Recommendations: if you do decide to visit, go safe and try the dúo marino and anticuchos, they can't get them wrong due to their simplicity, but avoid the other items, unless you see others enjoying it already.
Don't expect much of an atmosphere, it's more of a quick bite on a casual day, you'll be Lucky if the music still playing...
Read moreMy friend had been here multiple times, said it was decent, and so me and another friend went there for dinner with him one Saturday evening. The place was fairly busy, but we managed to get a table. I skipped the starters and went straight for the main course and chose the seco de cordero (£18). A lamb based dish served with rice, beans, small salad, and yuca potato. A lovely dish indeed and all the elements went well together...the rice wasn't overcooked and the beans in the suace were flavoursome. The meat itself was a big chunk, tasty, but a bit dry if being honest....but very filling and hearty. For dessert, I went for the Tres Leches cake (£5) as my friend had recommended it, so I gave it a go. It's wasn't too sweet, which was good, and the layers of cream and milk kept it lovely and moist...the sweet cinnamon flavour also made it the perfect dessert to end the meal with. So, in the area and fancy some Peruvian food! This place is definitely worth a go. Friendly and...
Read moreFrom the moment I stepped into this restaurant, I felt transported back to my beloved Peru. The warm and inviting atmosphere, the rich aromas of authentic Peruvian cuisine, and the heartfelt hospitality made this an unforgettable experience. The ceviche de pescado was simply exquisite—fresh and perfectly marinated. The service was outstanding, with attention to every detail. But what truly made this experience special was Milagros, the owner, whose kindness and warmth made us feel like family. Her passion for sharing Peruvian culture and cuisine is evident in every dish and every interaction. If you’re in London, this place is an absolute must-visit. Whether you’re Peruvian or simply love great food, you’ll leave with a full heart and a satisfied palate. ¡Gracias por traer un pedacito de Perú a esta ciudad!...
