I love Angel more and more! I came here today and found out that a new store has opened, called Youfaner! It’s just two steps away from the subway station. The decoration in the store is very exquisite, and the calligraphy and painting are full of Chinese elements~ Let me share it with you!
🐟Paper wrapped grilled fish, limited time special price of £9.9 I really love it! I specifically asked the store whether it will last for a month starting from this Friday! The shape is the base of a traditional Chinese triangular tripod, with a Le Creuset red cast iron pot on top! They really carve out every detail with great care~ The paper-wrapped fish is garlic flavored. A layer of paper wraps up the umami flavor. It is super delicious. The fish is also very fresh. There are crispy lotus root slices and Baby cabbage, plenty of ingredients!
🐟Stir-fried pork with chili peppers, the aroma will be dizzy when the dish is served! The aroma of chili peppers hits your nostrils! Every piece of pork belly is alternately fat and thin, and it doesn’t taste greasy at all. It’s very good!
🐟Snail noodle, even the snail noodle comes in a deep red cast iron pot! That’s great! This is a perfect example of combining Chinese and Western food The taste is also super good, including fried yuba, peanuts, sour bamboo shoots and chopped green onion
🐟The braised chicken is also in a cast iron pot The small pot is really cute and the portion is really big! The taste is not salty at all and is very fragrant. It feels like eating at home Like it!
🐟Golden steamed buns, small steamed buns with condensed milk are still a classic among classics! The outer skin is golden brown and extremely crispy! Dip it in condensed milk and you will be so happy ~
Overall, it tastes great! And it’s a great deal! They also have many signature dishes, such as Desert Wind Sand Lamb Chop, American Frog Fish, and Pepper Pork Belly Chicken, all of which I want to eat! come back next time! Take advantage of the fact that you can have a huge portion of grilled fish and...

[months ago] One of the top authentic Chinese restaurants in town. Great flavours of Sichuan dishes - if you love spicy! They also serve a wide selection of drinks included beers, G&Ts and milktea of course! Oh and everything is so decently priced. Don’t miss out!!
[Today] Okay this is the cut line for my latest review 31st Oct 2024. I genuinely don’t know what happened to FANNN. I came with friends many many times and absolutely loved it - always good flavours and good value, a wide range of drinks and bubble teas. However, I’m not so sure any more after today. To start, there is no gin and tonic available which I had always ordered here. Then as we ordered set menu we wanted sparkling water as part of the set, we were told there was no sparkling water available either. Okay then the dishes started coming - short ribs (can’t remember the name but they are red coloured) were dry and hard to chew. Crispy fried beef was just kind of warm. Curry served on the side with no spoons. Oh we were given only one fork each person, no knives or chopsticks. And I tell you what, it’s rather challenging to have a full Chinese meal with only a fork! No napkins. (Yes they were provided on request) We were sat by the door and the door was not able to shut properly - it was a cold autumn evening so there was cold draft through the whole meal. And to finish, we were presented the bill and two mints, I paid straightaway and put the receipt in my bag, by the time I looked up again to grab my mint - it’s taken away already, it’s take away the second I paid the bill lol. I can’t understand any of these. What a disgrace for a restaurant that used to have a great reputation among the...
Read moreI am usually quite discerning when it comes to food especially when they are East Asian origins. I had been struggling to find a genuinely good and authentic Chinese restaurant in London for years, and I must say Fannn is among the very best I've tried.
I had Mapo tofu, Steamed sea bass, Stir fried lotus root and Wok fried chickens. The Mapo tofu was perfectly balanced in its spiciness and numbing sensation, creating enjoyable flavours. The Stir fried lotus root and chickens were very nice too.
The absolute highlight was the Steamed sea bass. I'm not the best when it comes to fish, but this dish was a revelation. The fish tasted incredibly fresh and was infused with the essence of gingers.
I also ordered a milk tea (Grape x Tea), no worse than milk tea shops out there. The staffs were very friendly and it had a nice and clean environment. Last but not least, the prices are reasonable.
If you're looking for an authentic Chinese dining experience, Fannn is the place to be. I highly...
