I love Finch’s and what’s not to love about this place. From decor to food this place is a 10 on 10 for me. The beautiful bar coloured in soothing green, beautiful seating, lighting creates a beautiful ambience. After your eyes have soaked in the beauty this place has to offer, order some food and you won’t be disappointed. I love their scotch eggs which come with sprinkled Parmesan, it’s amazing balanced, they use the same sausage for their sausage roll which has this perfect flaky pastry. I recommend this place a 100 percent. And I almost forgot, they have painting classes every Saturday at Finch’s, so sip your mimosa and let the colours take you away :)

A pleasant bar on City road, opposite the north end of Finsbury Square. Wooden floors under a laid back open bar area, plenty of room for dining too. A good selection of beers, both cask and keg on offer. Also, lots of gin to sample. Happy attentive staff behind the bar, service was quick, polite and cheerful. Why Finch's? Henry H Finch is written on one wall, perhaps the 16-17th century lawyer/politician. An enjoyable place to stop off for a drink or for lunch in a pleasant informal setting.

Traditional gastropub with excellent quality food! I visited recently for a corporate event on a Friday evening and it was packed! Our dedicated area was catered to with a nice selection of food that was delicious. Decent service and variety of drinks on offer. Good decor and clean toilets. Don't think there's more you can ask off a pub?

Very low standard for food and incredibly low staffing levels, yet expensive. Not recommended. I ordered the sirloin steak, the most expensive item, at £24, but it arrived actually cold, was inedible, a mean size, and only came with some chips and an incredibly salty pepper sauce. I had to request some salad, if only to make the plate look less bare, but after one mouthful of the meat, I returned it, as I had no confidence that this establishment can cook a decent steak. I ordered the vegan marrow dish instead, and that was actually nice. No compensation was offered for the dreadful meal, and the waiter (manager?) seemed rather annoyed with me. There were only two staff there during the whole evening (6.30pm to 9 30pm on a Friday night) so the orders were unsurprisingly slow at times, and we had to pursue various orders for both food and drinks several times. The staff were clearly doing their best and it looks like they had been placed on a vary unfair position by their management. I cannot recommend this pub/restaurant if you are seeking even a barely acceptable eating experience. I was there at the behest of a friend, for her birthday, but will avoid this location, and the chain, in the future. At least the toilets were...

The Christmas meal was truly appalling. The starter was two pieces of soggy bread that were probably older than me accompanied by a dried up twirl of what looked like it could of been Salmon at some point (probably from the same era as the bread).

Then out comes the turkey dinner, well I presume the two slabs of what looked like dried leather (even curling at the ends) was turkey. This was served with some burnt potatoes that had obviously been reheated numerous times before.which gave them an interesting chewy consistency. The (well it was billed as bread sauce looked like it had been made by dulux and my tastebuds confirmed so.

Thank god I picked the cheese as my desert. The only edible part of the whole meal! I wake up this morning thankful at least that I haven’t spent the night with my head down the toilet!

How they can charge £35 for that meal is beyond me! I wouldn’t of fed it to a...

I have gone back to the pub to try the lunch since my visit last year. I have to say that I was very disappointed as I did not get to have any food. The manu did not show any dietary restrictions so I asked which ones are gluten free. I was then handed a document shows almost everything containing gluten even in the side dishes that I know should not have gluten. While I understand that the restaurant does not want to get themselves into trouble with dietary requirement. However, it is really disappointment of handing me a document saying everything with gluten. They even refund to make any suggestions and offering and help. It is a friendly place for people with dietary restrictions. It would be much easier to say ' foods may contains trace of gluten' and still be helpful like other...
