What a disappointment!! After buying a really nice loaf some time ago, we decided to "treat" ourselves to brunch. The male staff was unfriendly and lacked training on basic food hygiene. Brought our cups to the table ,holding them with his fingers inside the cups ( he clearly had a cold :-(). Someone brought fresh food from prep area ,wearing gloves. Unfortunately, this male colleague proceeded to transfer the batch from the tray onto the display area bare hands. At this stage, we had 2nd thoughts about ordering food. Our decision to go somewhere else was finalised when the female staff - clearly unhappy about working there- started sweeping the floor by us , then emptied the bin, fiddled with it, touched the dustpan and then proceeded to serve a customer, taking a paper bag without washing her hands nor wearing gloves. Not good enough and no excuse for poor food hygiene. I may put up with moody staff but not with a lack of basic hygiene protocol. A missed opportunity from...
Read moreIt was a nice place for a coffee and pastry. Not sure I've never had a bad almond croissant so can't really give five star but I enjoyed it đ. Lucky to get a table on a busy weekend with sunshine so service maybe suffered slightly but still ok. You have to go 'above and beyond' to get five star these days with much competition, like friendly welcomes, small talk, ' is everything ok for you' etc. But do try this relatively new ,'bakery come coffee house'. With a bakery behind they shouldn't ever run out of loaves and pastries haha. Buzzing so five star atmosphere on our visit. I'd like to see such places offer more in the way of healthy unsliced wholemeal loaves at a price all locals can afford, especially those on a pension or low income, and there are many! All in all though a welcome addition to our local hospitality...

Baguette is amazing (great combination of proper crust and inside softeness and taste), other Sourdough breads also good (again nice crust), and the Rye was surprisingly good too (so hard to get in the UK). Croissants and pain au chocolat much better than anything else nearby. I'm no expert on cinnamon rolls but I like to buy them every now and then, they're not too sweet and have an interesting texture. Having grown up in a bakery in Austria with a normal wide selection of dark-, grain-, white- and Sourdough breads, this place is a beacon of hope in an otherwise wasteland of industrial supermarket "bread". Extra points for good coffee and nice flowers, but it's the bread...
