FIREAWAY HERNE HILL — Restaurant in London

It was a decent pizza, I can’t say too much about service as ordered via the online app, it came in reasonable time and was warm but thing about the pizza it was almost a cross breed between an dominos and a authentic Italian pizza.

Only thing though I would say with toppings they weren’t great they really wasn’t. They was okay but not spectacular. I like the concept but given they’re trying to do that authentic Italian pizza base and then using cheap toppings that they are I think it’s a real shame. Because with the style of pizza they’ve got I can only compare it therefore to the rivals which are Franco Manca.

And Franco is better and comes at a more affordable price. You can get a pizza there for 11.95 or the cheapest pizza item without any cheese and just sauce is 8.95. However Fireways cheapest is 11.99 but still 4p more and is the quality 4p better? No, it’s not! In most case the pizza cost a £1 more expensive but again is it a £1 better pizza! Again I’d have to unfortunately say no. It’s not £1 better off!

And it doesn’t beat dominoes at the game either. So for me it’s a mismatch and I think the is something there but...

Pros: Pizzas look great, very appetising. Generous toppings. Price is competitive. Delivered hot. Lots of options and customisation available for very good price.

Cons: Weirdly the cardboard box smells bad and quite strongly, like recycled cardboard and ink, which I guess is easy to resolve by not eating out of the box. Meatballs might be vegetarian or something but were more like balls of rubbery cooked flour impregnated with oil. The dough, cheese, charcuterie, they’re ok. This one isn’t necessarily a fault with the restaurant but the quality of the ingredients was lower than comparably priced pizzerias in the area.

Altogether it’s fine verging on good standard pizza. Not the best in the area but far from worst. Would maybe try again, but I’d avoid the...

Order was apparently cancelled but I was not given any notice. I waited over an hour for delivery and only when I phoned them I was told this was case, despite the app saying there was progress on the order and emails saying its on its way. I was never notified the order was cancelled, and they have taken my money without any refund offered. The guy in the phone kept giving me excuses and then hung up on me.
