A family visit... The location of this branch wasn't hard to locate, if you're taking public transport, it's in-between Royal Albert and Prince Regent on the DLR. There's also a local bus stop just walking distance away near Prince Regent (DLR) i remember. You could always drive of course. The place itself was very nice, the layout, setting, all that stuff were great, can't knock them for that. The food on my part was fine, on the other hand, mother-in-law, her steak, she likes it rare (blue rare even...), she had to get it changed because they overcooked it...TWICE...so it was like third time lucky for her. So by the time she got her meal the way she wanted it, nearly all of us were halfway through to finished. She wasn't too impressed... The staff were nice, they did their jobs, nothing bad to be said. I'd recommenced this place for a nice family meal or whatever...

Quite a bizarre location with hotels and media centres all around but it was the perfect haven for me after a frantic day travelling to and fro Millwall FC. I just wanted respite after the mayhem which is London Bridge and Borough Market. I tried to get an early pint but it was before 11 but at 6pm on a Saturday night the pub was so quiet apart from a few watching the football screens. Two beers at the bar but strangely neither were available due to cleaning the pipe systems. Yeah!! On a Saturday night. Anyway, I had a Cruzcampo and cheesy garlic bread ( which was delicious) and some chips. Lovely friendly staff and very helpful. Trade picked up a little bit as the evening went on but not sure how this pub survives in the middle of nowhere. Worked for me though!!

Overpriced and arguably the worst accomodation in London. Over £200 per night! During check-in, I experienced a frustrating delay as the hotel staff initially couldn't locate my reservation due to not knowing the current date. When I enquired about additional toiletries because my luggage was misplaced, they proudly mentioned they provided hand wash and toilet paper. The room itself was minuscule and the carpet was riddled with questionable stains. The mirror was hanging precariously off one hinge, the air conditioning unit was held together with sellotape, and the windows and surfaces were covered in decades-old dust. You dont want to hear about the mattresses. When I asked for a room change, after a long telephone call with the manager, the hotel staff offered another room but with an extra £50 fee attached but they were glad to provide a cancellation and agreed that they, too, had no intention of staying at the hotel. This is not a hotel but a pub with rooms. The staff leave when the pub closes so there is no security available. The punters who are as rough and common as the accomodation leave the pub inebriated and take their loud profanity and aggressive blunders to their rooms after midnight where you can hear every irate word through the paper thin walls. In summary, I strongly advise against staying here, especially if you have an early morning weekday commitment.

Recently stayed and would try to avoid in future. It has a good location and staff are friendly enough. Some other reviewers said they couldn't understand staff, it's true most of the staff are non-English but I understood them just fine. Rooms are small (although expected for the price and location). Food is really not good at all. I ordered an avocado muffin - couldn't cut through the bun and hardly a wipe of avocado present. Don't come here expecting good food. I ended up going across to premier Inn next door - much better and prices are also good there. Rooms have coffee etc. but bathroom is a death trap. Cold shower in the morning and I had a shower at lunch time too - it was so hot that I couldn't even step into it on its lowest setting. I should also mention there was black mold... You'll also have the luxury of hearing the planes and train passing by early in the morning until late at night.

Where to start. Check in is chaotic. Expect to be ignored whilst they serve on the bar. I was on the fourth floor with a knee injury and no lift. The room looks nothing like the photos. It was tiny, dirty and bleak. The windows were painted shut, which is incredibly dangerous in a fire situation. There's no toiletries. There was peeling paint due to damp in 1 corner. Breakfast was appalling and downright weird. Croissants, cheese slices, packet ham and cold coffee. No serving tongs so everyone had to use their fingers. No cooked option. Staff couldn't have been less interested. No one asked if anything was OK. No spoons for the cereal. And all this for the expensive price of £172. Go to the Premier inn across the road instead

The Foc at Connaught Is one of those new pubs you see at the side of the road and think “I’ve seen that before”. Unfortunately, these newly built pubs lack character. They may offer a sociable environment and panoramic sports TV, but the lack individuality. The food is a hearty, large portioned affair. Veggie and vegan options are catered for on a separate menu. Unfortunately, given the time of day, 19:00 on a Saturday, a number of menu items were not available due to them being sold out. The food was delivered eventually and it was nearly right (there was a bit of confusion over what dessert I ordered). Good value food, plenty of space, comfortable.
