After looking at their website we decided to visit the restaurant one evening as part of a birthday weekend. Both the food and drinks menu online had great choices and we'd already decided what we would have beforehand. We arrived at 8pm, the bar and restaurant were clean, spacious and we were greeted with friendly staff. We decided to sit in the bar side and not the restaurant because the remaining seat were under wall mounted TVs which people were watching. Although obviously nobody would be watching us, when all eyes are in your direction watching TV it can make you feel a bit "Watched". I would suggest on non match days that the restaurant screens are either switched off or changed to ambient pictures etc. The sports bar has enough TVs to keep everyone happy and then the restaurant would be more exclu for dining. We ordered our bottle of our favourite only to be told it was not available.. Not a good start but we understand that these things happen. We were then presented with menus on a clip board and imm we noticed that the menu was completely different to what was on their website. When we mentioned this we were told the the website was really old and they were sorry about that. Things were now starting to annoy us as had we known we would have gone elsewhere. We ordered a garlic pizza bread £5.50 and what arrived was a hot buttered pita bread.... Little or no Garlic was noticed. We both ordered the Fiery Burger, one with Sweet Potato Wedges (which was a quarter of a sweet potato sliced into four and laid on a plate) and the other with rosemary fries (frozen fries with a mix of salt and rosemary sprinkled on). The burger was lovely and well prepared, looked good and was very hot! The sides were just naff and over priced. We mentioned the rosemary fries didn't have rosemary on so they were taken away and returned with more salt and rosemary on along with a extra pot of salt and rosemary. Looking at the pot we immediately noticed this had been prepared a very long time ago as the rosemary was dry and not fresh which is why we couldn't taste the rosemary. Based upon the price and quality of the overall meal, we decided to skip dessert and go elsewhere. I have given one star for the establishment and another for the staff. I have deducted a star each for website, food/drink selection and price as it was very over priced for what it was. Please note, I am not blaming the chef for the food as I'm sure they would love to have a slightly larger budget to get it right, I would say that profit is the driving force behind this restaurant and not customer satisfaction. We would have spent more had things have...
Read moreAfter a thrilling visit to Chelsea Football Club, we decided to refuel at Frankies, a lively sports bar that promises hearty fare over haute cuisine. And let me tell you, it was the perfect pitstop following our exploration of the football club.
Our group of six opted for the classics: burgers, chips (fries), tacos, and a round of drinks. Each dish was executed flawlessly, hitting the spot after our active outing. The service was commendable, with attentive staff ensuring our needs were met promptly. Moreover, Frankies boasts ample seating, catering to both large gatherings and more intimate parties.
Sporting enthusiasts will find themselves right at home amidst the plethora of TVs and the bustling bar atmosphere, making it an ideal spot to catch a game while indulging in a satisfying meal.
For those visiting the club, I highly recommend making a detour to Frankies for a well-deserved break. However, if your itinerary doesn't include the football club, London offers a myriad of dining options, so I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to visit. Nevertheless, it's undeniably a solid choice for a casual and enjoyable dining experience. All in all, Frankies earns my enthusiastic recommendation...
Read moreMy 15 year old son and I arrived half an hour earlier than our meal booking time. The staff member explained that due to my son being under 18 we couldn't stand near the bar until our table was ready . Despite it being a busy match day the staff were extremely helpful and efficient in sourcing a free table within just a couple of minutes . Our food arrived promptly. The spicy, hot chicken wings we had for starters were gorgeous and a good size portion . The burgers we had for main course were very tasty but the meat wasn't very warm and several of the chips were very overdone . I didn't raise the issue with the staff because they were so busy and it didn't spoil my enjoyment of the food too much. As a lone female of a certain age I didn't feel too confident about going to the , largely male occupied bar area to order my drinks but I needn't have worried as the staff waiting on tables were brilliant and super efficient at taking and delivering my drinks orders . All in all we had a good meal in a great atmosphere and would definitely book again. A big shout out for the staff, they really...
