March 24: Worst Italian Restaurant ever. i must point out this is my first negative review in 40yrs. Food dreadful. Flavors of food massacred. Ordered a Parimagina as a starter, small serving was served as requested. It was so overbaked, had collapsed top crusted over, aubergines cooked to death sauce sticky, flavor bad. (Was charged for a main serving £13 despite been given a starter plate, as requested). We did not make any comment and assumed that it was just unfortunate with the starter. For the main I ordered Linguine del mare with mussels, squid, and prawns served cooked in white wine. requesting no squid. And my adult son was going to order a meat dish but when the waitress shared that the chef was Neapolitan he decided to opt for a Pizza Quatro Stagioni. Upon being served I deshelled the Mussels they were beyond tiny from approx 3mm-7mm some of the tiny ones were incomplete so I put them to one side out of all the mussels only one was about 1.5cm also there was only one prawn in the whole dish the sauce was darkish in color unlike any I have seen in the past. i took one forkful and it tasted ghastly, difficult to describe, a bland stock-cube not a wine flavor. It left a bad taste in my mouth and a furred tongue! I asked my son to taste and found it inedible and said 'Mum you cant eat that, its terrible'. i asked the waitress to kindly take it away. She offered an alternate meal, but I politely refused having already had two bad dishes and was not at this juncture sure if the mussels were off or overcooked. My son then commenced to eat his Pizza which I have to say did not look good Thick dough base, very minimal thin topping. My Son ate some and said it was the worst Pizza ever Tasteless, so i ate a slice, unbelievable i don't know how it is even possible to create such a tasteless pizza an inexpensive frozen pizza would be 'king' in comparison. He left two thirds on his plate. We had planned to order desserts but didn't dare risk it. When we received the bill as already mentioned I was charged for a main course Parimagina instead of a starter price, also was charged for a large glass of wine instead of a small glass which I was served. i would like to point out I'm not a fussy customer and have dined in exquisite and mediocre restaurants but nothing ever like this. I have also lived in Italy so know what the dishes should taste like or similar to. I've never known anyone to destroy good food in this way. A complete and utter waste of money and time. It discredits the restaurant, the staff (whom I must compliment as the Lady with blond hair who served us, was exceptionally lovely). I should point out when leaving the restaurant at 19.30hrs it was empty. As we were both still hungry we popped into another restaurant nearby...
Read moreWe visited last night, our first meal at Brusketta. This was before a Chelsea FC game so we had the match day menu which was £24.95 a head for two courses. The restaurant was very busy of course but I could only call it organised chaos. It look ages to get a drink (which we received an apology for to be fair) each time we ordered. We were told there were no bottles of wine but we could get a glass so we given a list verbally. There was no wine list or prices given. I didn't ask the cost of these so my fault. However, I had two large glasses of not the best Sauvignon Blanc and was shocked when the bill arrived as EACH glass was £12.15!
We ordered our two courses and after a wait (again understandable), the starters arrived. A couple of minutes later the main course was delivered to my husband and brother-in-law. The portions were quite small for the amount charged. I received my sea bass course 10mins later, which was fine, but I ordered fries and I had eaten half the fish before they arrived.
When the bill was given to us, I was charged for a glass of wine I didn't have (I noticed another table had the same problem). This was removed. Given all this, being charged 12.5 service was a cheek. We paid the bill but the experience left us resolving never to go to Brusketta again.
The restaurant has not had to experience many match days since it opened and I have taken that into account in terms of service but the value for money...
Read moreThis has reopened recently as an Italian restaurant called ‘Brusketta’. Please please do not waste your time. I think this would make the top 3 worst meals I’ve ever had. Previous good reviews are for what was there before.
We went prior to a Chelsea match to try it out as somewhere new. Two bouncers on the door advised us we could come in so long as we had match tickets no problem. We then proceeded to wait 45 mins for menus and drinks order and a further 45 minutes for starters which came out at different times and even longer to actually pay the bill. I had finished my main before my friends starter had arrived.
The match day is £25 per head for a starter and main. Absolutely tiny portions and very low quality food like a school canteen. It really felt as though we had been ripped off. There are sneaky supplements on the vast majority of items on the menu and drinks are vastly overpriced. Many of the diners were bemused and laughing at the horrific food/price/service. To the point where most had queried the bill and refused to pay any service charge. There was also only one vegetarian option and one option for dessert. A bottle of wine served with plastic cups. Really one star is too much
Woeful...
