Funhouse Croydon — Restaurant in London

Honestly, I could not rate this place enough! The staff there were fab. Went last nght for my best mates 40th and we had such a blast. Steven in particular genuinely looks like he loves his job. He was such a vibe, always smiling, always dancing and nothing was any bother, he was so funny. Vincent was also really great! Very friendly and funny, proper chatty and told me everything I needed to know, he was such a great help. There was a mish-mash of people from all walks of life tbh and there wasn't any bad vibes on this particular night. Cocktails were banging, defo recommend the end game! drinks prices not to bad, although the price for a bottle I felt was a little steep. All in all it was such a great night. there's a few games to choose from. Our table played frustration looool, beer pong, table tennis and jenga. Wasn't overly impressed with the dj, simply because he kept playing parts off some songs like the lyrics were stuck on repeat over and over for a minute felt alot sometimes, and he kept cutting songs too short. If you're looking for a fun, carefree night with no judgment, then this is a great place to go! However some security at the end were abit abrupt and rude at throwing out time though, which bugged me bcoz some, not all, were really rude and patronising and it just wasn't necessary tbh,...

The venue itself is amazing, the floor staff are friendly, the food was hot and the drinks were delicious & cold. I cannot recommend the wheel of Fortune enough - from candy floss to bottles of booze well worth the price. However a couple of caveats.

Firstly - the wheel of Fortune changed price (increase) while we were there. Perhaps this has been retained but I felt it was taking advantage of people drinking.

Secondly the door staff. A member of our group had drank too much and was ejected. Myself and two others helped the door staff to eject them (got her a cab and saw her out of the venue on his request) we were then told we couldn't re-enter.

Bear in mind our jackets and belongings were still at the table we paid a booking fee for and at the time hadn't played some of the activities we paid for in advance. Great venue to have in Croydon after all the nightlife we have lost in the area over the years. Nice vibe inside and a great downstairs space to go to. The one downer in the evening that I felt was that the staff member just inside the entrance taking the payments came across as a bit impatient. I appreciate that by it is by no means an easy job where I can imagine there are quite a few difficult customers, and working in the middle of the night can't be ideal. Having said that, I felt on a couple of occasions that their attitude wasn't great and they came across as abrupt. To be fair the staff member had seemed fine at times, but I felt talked down to. The staff outside and in the bar were lovely and made me feel a lot more welcome, which in turn helped make the difference in me considering returning to this venue again.
