đ Old Street đşÂ ÂŁ6.65 Guinness
Gibneyâs is located just south of Old Street roundabout close to Bunhill Fields. The nearest Tube is Old Street, itâs a couple of minutes walk to get here.
This Irish Bar opened in March 2020 and sits beneath sister restaurant, Daffodil Mulligan. The bar is run by the Gibney family who own âGibneyâsâ which is one of Dublinâs most celebrated pubs.
You enter the bar through a door to the right hand side of the restaurant and head down some stairs to the basement. The servery is located on the right hand side and stretches down the length of the bar. Opposite the servery are some cosy dark wood booths with red leather seating and TVâs. There is plenty of seating throughout with poser tables up the middle and banquettes around the perimeter. There are also a few large screens for watching live sport.
The beer selection offers a diverse mix of familiar favourites, Irish craft beers from @ryeriverbrewingco and @5lampsbrewery , Gibneyâs own Stout and of course Guinness. I decided on a Guinness, my pint was excellent, price point was a little high. There is a Bar Snacks and Sharers menu if youâre hungry, dishes include Korean Pork Bites, Cauliflower Bhajis, if you want to push the boat out, there is a Suckling Pig to share costing ÂŁ96.
I arrived around 1pm on an overcast Saturday lunchtime in March. The pub was fairly busy with a few different groups, some solo imbibers and some lads sat at the bar. The atmosphere was upbeat with Irish folk songs and 80âs rock classics setting the backdrop to the ambience. The service was top drawer, the chap behind the ramp was on the ball and having the craic with lads at the bar.
This Bar shows live sport including Rugby, Football, Horse Racing, NFL and all major sporting events. There is also Live Music, Acoustic sets and traditional Irish Trad nights.
Visiting @gibneys.london was a very enjoyable experience. The hospitality was warm, the @guinness was great and the setting a place you could easily loose an afternoon in. No Irish pub gimmicks here, this place is definitely worth a visit.

Read moreThe bar manager is astonishingly rude: belittling and condescending especially to female clients and unnecessarily rude when asked for simple advice. I came in when the bar was quiet and asked if they were booked up for the rest of the night to which he told me yes but that I could sit at the bar: I sat at the bar, ordered, and got up to check the timings on the other empty table bookings in case I could sit there until the bookings came up. The bar manager shouted at me âLove, Iâve already told you theyâre booked upâ. All night, he was condescending and rude, when the bar was not busy, he told my party we could not stand in a specific spot or place a drink on an empty table that did not have a booking for hours when the whole place was as still empty. The rest of the bar staff was lovely!!! Really speedy service and helpful!! But the bar manager was consistently rude and honestly, so condescending. I never do this but I would genuinely never recommend...
Read moreDO NOT GO HERE TO WATCH IRISH RUGBY. Called them 3 days before, they said walk ins were available. They said bookings werenât available and it was walk ins only. Arrived and they said it was fully booked. Terrible experience!!!
Go to Feeneyâs in Bank/ Monument. Great atmosphere, walk ins and an authentic Irish pub with great people, rugby and atmosphere :)
Edit: Gibneyâs responded to my post. If it is first come first served you need to tell people that!!! I asked on the phone multiple times how I could come and enjoy the game and was just told âwalk ins are fine, youâll get inâ
Terrible experience to be told something on the phone, when Iâve done everything I can to book, and then turn up and be told I canât come in. If people have to arrive early and walk ins are limited you need to tell people that!!!!
I arrived well in advance of kick off (30 minutes), if I had known walk in werenât available after a certain time I would have arrived...
