I am writing to formally express my deep disappointment and concern regarding the unacceptable behavior I experienced at your establishment, XOYO on Wednesday 30th of April.
During my visit, I encountered security staff who acted in a manner that was not only rude and unprofessional but also racially discriminatory, security kept shouting on us for not being in the correct smoking area despite there was no sign of where we was meant to be, they was changing smoking point areas based on they’re liking. At one point security came and asked us to follow them as we was some criminals. They failed to listen to any kind of explanation despite my friend being a head doorman for 10+years this is not how security have to act . I have been called stupid by one of the security “Despite following all entry protocols, I was singled out, questioned aggressively, and ultimately kicked out without reason. Management should really review security conduct as this place is a total disaster. One Romanian lady from first aid came and started insulting us in her language threatening us that will get punched in the face, plus the guy that I think was in “charge” of security guy with beard , at one point we have been surrounded and being threatened as we were some criminals. I feel disgusted by this place , but what can I say ? You can see all that happened on CCTV, plus by the hundreds of negative reviews this place has against security and staff. You will find one day the person who is going to press charges and will fill a nice and big lawsuit and this “place” will have to shut his doors .
The actions of your staff were not only humiliating but made me feel unsafe and unwelcome. No individual should be subjected to such treatment, especially in an environment that promotes itself as inclusive and respectful. It is disheartening to witness such blatant racial profiling and unprofessional conduct.
I request that you thoroughly investigate this incident and take appropriate action to address the behavior of the individuals involved. Additionally, I would appreciate a written response outlining the steps your establishment will take to ensure such incidents do not occur in the future.
For everyone coming in the future AVOID this place at all costs, if you don’t want to be racially profiled and treated like a criminal. All security there should lose they’re...
Read moreFirst of all , I have to disclose that I'm from Detroit, MI, so please take that into consideration when reading this review. However, I have been to clubs in Paris, Rome, Prague, Los Angeles, Manhatten, Honolulu, and of course Detroit. Now, being from Detroit, I don't expect much from a dance club. Good music, fairly priced drinks, a decent sized dance floor and people who are dressed for the occasion. It was a Thursday night, and to be fair, we arrived a bit early. The admission to the club was 20 pound, a bit pricey but we were good with that assuming the party was going to be worth it. As people started arriving we were wondering if we were at a night club or a soup kitchen (for those of you who don't know what a soup kitchen is you can google it). Guys were in baseball hats, hoodies, tank tops (aka wife beaters in the U.S.), gym shoes, and many probably hadn't showered in a few days. The 5 women that were in th club had sneakers on, and were dressed liked they were watching a football game on a Sunday afternoon laying on their couch. Sorry London, I just expected more from a major city at a dance venue.
Carrying on, the bottom level looked like the scene in the movie Footloose at the dance before Wren (Kevin Bacon) arrived. The guys (80% of the place) and girls were basiclly on opposite sides of the dance floor staring at each other or their phones, no one was dancing. It became darker as the night went on, which I'm assumming was to hide the skanky individuals that continued filling the space. Level 1 wasn't any better. The dance floor was made up pf 75 guys and 6 girls. Do any of the women in London wear heels, skirts or put on make up? Do any of the guys actually shave, comb their hair and shower before going out? The continuous smell of inscence pumping through the club was obviously there to cover up the inability of the occupants to shower properly.
The staff was decent, the drinks were good and fairly priced. Ultimately, if you want to hang out in a club that has an absolute zero dress code or hygiene policy, a 20 pound cover, and is basically a sausage fest, then by all means go to this club.
I've been to exponentially better clubs in every major city I've been to around the world. Is there anything better in London? Come on over to the "D" and we'll show you how to...
Read moreMe and my friends who are all freshly 18, wanted to experience a new club, we found XOYO, booked the tickets etc. When we was at the door of the club, the security guards who was checking and searching our bags, were so unnecessarily rude, and did not explain what and how the procedure of the search will, just asked me straight away how much have i had to drink, and pulled my bag off me, because i didn’t understand what she wanted me too do as she didnt talk and just showed me actions and then ripped it off me. The bag strap ended up snapping. We then come in and start buying j bombs have 3 each, then go out for a smoke outside, security then approaches me and says lets go for a chat, i was okay with that and didnt ask why, but then i was told i was “intoxicated” because i was “wobbly” like i am not aloud to be tipsy at the club. The medic examined me and asked questions that i answered clearly and he understood me, without slurring and stuttering my words. We then got led out the club as i didnt pass the exam apparently, then the manager told ALL OF US 3, “your pupils are so good” etc, after first saying its about alcohol then about drugs, they did not know what they was talking and acted so impatient with us because we had an attitude towards them as for us we got kicked out for no reason. Then decided to tell me to do the walk in a straight line test, i did that with ease and one security laughed as he knew I was all good, however the female manager ended up being horrible and saying we are going to comprise etc “get some food come back”, we was most definitely not coming back after experiencing this type of treatment especially being so young, it was so overwhelming and scary to be told that i am on something that i was not, and we asked them to test us and we asked why we out of the whole crown have been picked, the reason was “you was wobbly”, and apparently thats a good enough reason to put 3 18 year old girls under such stress, especially when we came out for a birthday celebration. This was genuinely an awful experience and they need to re think how they want to treat 3 girls especially being so club...
