After seeing that Giovanna's had opened on a local Forest Gate group, I couldn’t resist popping in to see the new store and have something to eat.
I wasn’t disappointed, I’m going to have to come again and have a proper look at the grocery items they have on sale, as there was a variety of Italian staples that are great to know I can get within the neighbourhood.
I highly recommend popping in and having something to eat though, their pizza selection was great. And the added option of adding toppings from the delicatessen counter a luxurious treat. The pizza was fabulously crispy and thin, with a beautiful sauce to complement the toppings. To finish our meal, we tried a slice of both of the chocolate cake and ricotta and pear cake. I think I’m going to have a hard time resisting the temptation of another slice of that Ricotta and Pear cake because it was fabulous.
Reasonably priced for the area and good quality ingredients accompanied with lovely service, welcoming atmosphere and beautiful decor, I will be visiting again!
Welcome to the area...
Read moreWe popped in for some coffee and tea, after training! We sat in the cosy garden area. The area was clean and tidy. The staff were overall polite, professional and friendly. I observed the food menu, but didn't feel like eating anything. I stuck to having two cappuccinos, friends had tea and some coffee also. Just before we left more customers entered the garden area. However, it never felt intrusive as we were all mindful of others when conversing. Clean toilet, and as I left I noticed more cakes and snacks (pictured).. therefore if I visit next time I'll pay attention and order something to eat before I enter the garden. It looked cosy inside and I love the impressive wine collection. My friend advised me that the pizza (in the evening) is good too! I look forward to returning again in the near future! Thank you to...

If I could, I would live here. The food is incredible. I could swim in the cocktails. And the staff are so friendly.
My partner and I are vegan, which can be a bit tricky when it comes to Italian food. But there are some fantastic options here. And they really go above and beyond to provide an exciting menu, and experiment with new stuff. This was the first place where I’ve eaten cheese that is actually cracker-worthy (vegans will understand how big a deal this is).
I recommend the truffle and mushroom bruschetta, followed by a ‘shamembert’ and tomato salad and then a vegan melanzane pizza. Swilled down with an Aperol Spritz, then a Venetian Spritz. Repeat until you roll out the restaurant, with some treats from the...
