Greek Cook & Grill — Restaurant in London

Interior is okay. We hadn’t booked a table and all of us were craving days to have pita gyros. Walked in, sat down on the table and when we got ready to order the server said that they don’t do pita wraps as it is lunch menu. We asked for couple more minutes to decide and then she said that they don’t have gyros either so can’t do most of the dishes on the menu. We requested if they could do us souvlaki in a pita and she said that its not possible. We tried to explain that its the same thing and her answer was “buy it separately and do it yourself”. This lady had bare attitude and was rude for absolutely no reason. We are greeks ourselves and can guarantee that the vibe wasn’t the same. Waited for about 50minutes for the food which is a long time for the food to be ready. Place wasn’t even packed but overstaffed! Food was alright. When it came to pay the bill we requested to take out the service charge as the main dishes of the menu weren’t available and that they didn’t tell us while sitting us down. The server responded “Ha Ha I knew it, you enjoyed the food as the plates are empty” in an ironically manner. Manager lady was nice, trying to defend and “explain” why they do pitta wraps only on lunch menu which long story short didn’t make any sense. Second time here and not...

GREAT! We really didn’t know what to eat, so we decided to go for something new, and we ended up at Greek Cook & Grill. We’d heard from friends that it was very nice but hadn’t had a chance to try it ourselves. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was great.We started with draft beer and a few starters. The waitress offered us some olives on the house, which was a nice gesture, and soon after that, our starters arrived. I chose grilled feta cheese, and my partner went for calamari. It was the best feta cheese I’ve ever had in my life—it had so much flavor and just the right amount of spices, AMAZING ! The lady who served us helped me with my wine choice by offering a little wine tasting of Greek wines. For the main course, we both chose chicken souvlaki, and it was delicious!
