Small Japanese eatery situated near the train station and High Street which serves up average fare at a very competitive price.
I ordered the Agedashi Tofu, Sake Roll (salmon + avocado), and Una Kyu Temaki. The tofu wasn't much to scream about. Instead of 2 large blocks of tofu in dashi broth as it's usually served, I got 4 smaller pieces. The dashi wasn't very flavourful and the tofu itself was microwaved.
The Sake Roll was decent. Salmon used was fresh and at only £7.50 for 8 reasonably-sized pieces, it's decent value for money.
The Temaki was pretty good. With juicy unagi and cucumber, it's well worth the £4 price tag.
Service was great with extremely polite and helpful waiting staff, although they don't seem to speak English well.
Overall, while the food wasn't extraordinary, it makes up for this with the low cost. Worth visiting if you crave sushi but are...
Read moreWe have eaten in quite a few of Twickenham's restaurants and had some great food, but I think this has to be the best and certainly one of the best Japanese restaurants outside of Central London. Service is friendly and the dishes are brought out quickly and made with care. The menu offers not only sushi but a large range of authentic starters along with some noodle and bento box dishes. We decided to order several smaller dishes and a few sushi so that we could sample more of the menu. The octopus legs with seaweed were on par with those I've had in Japan, the chicken karage (lightly fried chicken) was superb and tender, the lightly fried tofu in broth was delicate and tasty and all of the sushi dishes were fresh and very very good indeed. To top it off, the pricing is very reasonable for the high level of quality. Will certainly return to try more....

The salmon roe tasted completely off, the scallop did not look fresh, nor did it taste right - it was like they'd soaked it in a lemon water bath to disguise its three times frozen over taste, and worst of all, the sushi rice was MUSHY!!! The edamame was also simultaneously overcooked and dry, which was really impressive. My husband's chicken katsu curry with rice was tasteless - it managed to have less flavor than an instant curry box. The waitstaff was efficient to the point of absolute silence. I'm sorry to say it, but if you know what fresh sushi tastes like,...
