The Press Room — Restaurant in London

Given this place the benefit of the doubt a few times now, but I'm starting to think its just a bit rubbish. Every time I go, I wait a minimum of 15 minutes for a takeaway coffee even though there are normally min. 3 people behind the counter. When the coffee finally arrives it always looks and tastes like dirty water- once I looked at it and said it didn't look right and I got told that was what it's meant to look like. The drink I order takes under 1 minute to make- might it be a good idea to get some kind of system going where you make more than one drink at one time..? I'm clearly not the only one getting annoyed by this looking at everyone's faces in the queue. To be honest I would just say go to Costa over the road and get an equally mediocre coffee in a fraction...

Nice coffee, good avocado s/w, helpful service. quite a bustling place. Plenty of parking available around walking distance. Would be 5 star but our experience got sullied (no fault of cafe) by a middle aged couple who came and sat next to our family of 4 + dog (6 month old lab). The lady commented “how unpleasant” and gave a horrified reaction when Vincent barked once. We felt rushed to leave and got uncomfortable but made sure that the couple got told in no uncertain terms how shameful their behaviour and uncalled for their comment was. Lovely space, but unfortunately the staff made you feel quite unwelcome. Asking for water or to use the toilet when they announced they were closed with no warning seemed like a real imposition to them. Add to this there was a big 'vegan tax' there - the vegan lunch is nearly £2 more than a regular sandwich and to use oat milk instead of cow's milk in a hot drink they added £1. A real shame as otherwise a lovely space to bring a laptop and work. I want to support independent business, but it's hard when the staff at Starbucks down the road were really lovely and accommodating in...
