The Heidi bakery is a recent find that I feel truly grateful to have stumbled upon. I have fast become a frequent visitor and find myself thinking about it when I am away. It truly is a special place. You will know exactly what I mean if you have visited.
From the moment you walk into entrance, wander through the picturesque courtyard to the cafe door, you are met with the happy faces of the lovely staff along the way.
Upon entering the bakery, you are welcomed with an enticing selection of the most delicious cakes and pastries you will ever see. I have tried them all and I have not yet been disappointed. In fact, they always exceed my expectations. They are truly a tantalising work of art.
Ithman, made my coffee on my first visit and I always hope to see him when I go because not only are his coffee skills unmatched (his oat lattes are incredible!) but because of how happy, warm, attentive, and welcoming he is. His presence and kindness always makes the Heidi experience extra special.
Heidi Chelsea is a rare gem hidden away in the heart of Chelsea. I always leave feeling peaceful, happy and most importantly, eager to return.
A special mention to the crème brûlée croissant, almond croissant, jam doughnut and hazelnut cruffin- out of this world!
The savoury delights are equally spectacular. I particularly adored the mushroom and...
Read moreI was excited to find this quiet sanctuary of a coffee shop. I really wanted to stay, have a cuppa or two and lunch etc and to work there quietly with my laptop. It seemed perfect for that. But I’m not a ‘lady who lunches’ just meeting someone for a chat, I really needed somewhere to set up camp for a bit. Unfortunately, the 4G/5G coverage is really bad and they only allow 1 hour of WiFi so that destroyed my plans. I don’t have a space to work at home so I’m always looking for a good place. Heidi’s would have been that place, but for the WiFi situation. If it had worked I would have been able to bring two colleagues along to work quietly (and spend money on coffee, food, dessert). Pity. Heidi’s really deserves 5 stars, but for that one issue.
16.03.2025 Just read your reply and thank you. I couldn’t find where to reply to this as a thread so I’m adding an amended bit. I did raise this issue with a young barista behind the counter and asked for it to be passed on. I guess it wasn’t. I would love to give your bakery another try, but not sure an hour is workable. I’m surprised no-one has brought this to your attention before? Maybe you’re catering more for...
Read moreThe café had a calm and quiet atmosphere, mostly visited by elder people. The natural lighting was lovely, which made the space feel nice and welcoming. It was also quite spacious, and the outdoor seating area in front of the café was decorated with flowers — really pleasant to look at. The staff were friendly and kind, which added to the good experience. The flat white was a bit bland in flavor. The plum cake had a homemade texture and wasn’t overly sweet, which I appreciated. I do wish it had a bit more plum, especially considering the price — that part was a little disappointing. The crème brûlée croissant had an excellent pastry — perfectly flaky and buttery with no complaints there. However, the filling tasted more like flan than crème brûlée, which was slightly underwhelming, though I still liked that it wasn’t too sweet. One thing I’d really like to suggest is keeping the serving trays cleaner. It would definitely enhance the overall experience if the trays...
