Holy Pitta! 😯 This restaurant serves very good Greek food, and was able to accommodate us at 10pm to help end our good night out. There were many options available mainly centred around wraps (including Gyros/Yeeros), and also dishes with bread as an accompaniment. We ordered some olives and Tzatziki to start while we waited for our Karditsa sausage, Halloumi, and the Holy Souvlaki Wrap (containing Pork and chicken) to arrive. There wasn't one dish that wasn't made well, and you can also tell the bread is freshly made with care before eating everything else. The Halloumi and Holy Wraps were standout stars on the table for me, however even the olives and Tzatziki were really good; reminding me of the few times I'd travelled around Greece. Other than experiencing great service with us seated outside always being attended to, the establishment is really nice and deceptively big. It's the kind of place that is big and airy as the kitchen is open near the front of the restaurant, and what I also loved is the big mural inside which really gives an impressions you are actually in Greece. I would love to return here on a warm summer's evening for more food, as this restaurant is a great addition to the area of Islington! 😃🇬🇷

I used to come here around 5 years ago consistently after my A level studies but haven’t dined here until just today, and can confidently say it was good before but now the entire experience was amazing. I don’t know if it was the sun, the nostalgia or the food, but my love for this place has remains unwavering throughout the time I’ve been absent. The recipe has definitely improved (not that it even needed to), but the sauce they use is rich and creamy, which compliments the drier ingredients nicely. We also only got a tiny souvlaki and gyro but it filled us right up ! They also know how to cook halloumi properly which I recommended my friend try for the first time and they adored it. The selection of soft drinks is authentic, as is the atmosphere of the place. I honestly felt as if I was dinning abroad and were no longer in a quaint English town. The servers are professional and respectful. They mind their business too. Rest assured you should be able to feel comfortable here. Lots of seating too.

AVOID AVOID AVOID. Sea bass was AWFUL swimming in oil and tasted like it had been sitting out for hours before hand. The waitress kept trying to upsell everything and even after we had specifically asked for tap water she still bought out bottled AND CHARGED US FOR IT, and insisted we asked for it… My salad was also swimming in oil, and tasted like a bag of old lettuce. Their idea of a Greek salad is a wilted side salad on your plate with a block of oily cheese on the side. The calamari was like rubber bands and the mayonnaise was just egg. DO NOT COME HERE. We paid 140 pounds for substandard food, just go for a local kebab or grab a donut next door! It also took about an hour for the food to come whilst chefs were drinking glasses and glasses of wine, with the kitchen looking extremely grimey and filthy.

Been going here for years and the food quality has been 5 stars since the beginning and still is.

Our last visit (November 2023), there was a waiter or front man that we’ve never seen before who ruined our experience. Though he wasn’t rude and may have just been trying to be friendly, was extremely intense and micro managing.

As soon as we got in, as is the custom he asked us if we’d like take away or to eat in. We said to eat in. There was only one table taken and he sat us right by them. I normally wouldn’t mind if the restaurant was full but there was no one else there. So we requested if we could sit somewhere else but he said the rest of the place was closed…

He asked us if we’d been before and when we said yes, he presumed we knew what we wanted to order and asked us to order before we had even sat down. Once seated, he told us to take our bags off of the table which was understandable but we had barely settled or taken off our coats yet.

When I went to order, I was charged more than what was on the menu without being told. Then when I questioned it, he said it was the service charge. I also tried to order for my sister who went to the bathroom but he would not process the order until she came back and could pay for it.

Our food arrived and we were excited to eat. But the waiter just didn’t seem to leave us alone. He kept telling us how to take our meat off of the skewers. My sister has exzema on her hands and doesn’t like to touch food but he insisted to push the meat off the skewers with her hands and wouldn’t leave until she did so! We hadn’t even finished our food and he was taking the condiments away, he was standing and pacing very close to our table… at one point he even came and decided to pour the rest of our drink into the glass and took the can away. Then when we asked for a takeaway box, he stood there and watched how we packed the box of leftovers. We just felt like he was very intense and invasive.

This guy is a massive let down to the restaurant. Honestly, the food is delicious and so well presented. The chefs were friendly. The dining experience is just such a disappointment.

I will continue to order for delivery and takeaway from Holy Pitta, but I will never dine in again until there is a change...

AVOID. AVOID. AVOID

RACIST/ WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE/ BAD WORST MANAGER / UNFRIENDLY/

I had an absolutely horrendous experience at Holy Pita. From the moment we walked in, it was clear that customer service is not a priority here. The manager, whose name I didn't catch, was particularly appalling. His attitude was beyond unacceptable – he was rude, dismissive, and outright hostile.

We were barely greeted when we entered and instead of a warm welcome, we were met with a manager who seemed annoyed by our presence. When we tried to place our order, he was incredibly impatient, rolling his eyes and sighing loudly as if taking our order was an enormous burden. It was clear he had no interest in helping us or ensuring we had a pleasant dining experience.

The worst part came when we had a small issue with our order. We politely mentioned that one of our dishes was incorrect, and instead of apologizing or offering to fix it, the manager started shouting at us. Yes, shouting. He accused us of lying and trying to get free food. His behavior was completely unprofessional and downright shocking. We were embarrassed and felt humiliated in front of the other customers.

I've never encountered such blatant disrespect from a restaurant manager in my life. It was clear he had no regard for customer satisfaction or basic decency. The rest of the staff seemed intimidated by him and were also unhelpful, likely because they were afraid of getting the same treatment. The whole atmosphere in the restaurant was tense and uncomfortable because of his behavior.

To add insult to injury, the food was mediocre at best. Given the terrible service and the manager's appalling behavior, it was not worth the price at all. We left feeling completely dissatisfied and upset. I would strongly advise anyone considering Holy Pita to stay far away. They were not able to provide a receipt. There are plenty of other places with good food and staff who actually treat their customers with respect. Holy Pita is definitely not worth your...

Firstly, we were greeted politely but then seated by the toilets which was much to my dismay. Upon moving away from the toilet area, we scanned the menu (for context there was 3 of us) and found many great delights (cheap! - wow!). However, it appears this establishment favours a roulette method of service. we ordered (awkwardly), the interactions are abnormal yet amusing. Upon receiving our food, there was a slight mishap. The wrong pitta Wrap. Unfortunately the HOLY pitta which we ordered was not real, purely theoretical since god isn't real and it was misheard and we were presented with a halloumi wrap instead of thy holy pitta. Moving on to the topic of deserts and caffeinated beverages, the roulette of service had its say yet again. A baklava was missing... Thankfully we still got the Galaktoboureko but with only 1 set of cutlery, so I ate mine with a tiny spoon. An English tea was also ordered and and was on the bill but was not where to be seen on the table, in its place... AN EARLE GREY, with no milk. Many unsuccessful attempts were made but the bill alluded us. we eventually paid and left.

A trip to the holy pitta reminds us that nothing in life is predictable (much like the service), yet the food was BU$$IN

TO CONCLUDE - some seek adrenaline in the form of rollercoasters, some jump out of planes, and others ride camels... yet the THRILL one receives from the unpredictable service of roulette, is incomparable. Praise be the holy...
