Really not in the business of giving negative reviews - particularly in the difficult economic climate, especially for hospitality. But I entered the cafe today, fifteen minutes before closing time and with plenty of customers still with food and drink - and politely signalled that I wanted to use the toilet before buying something, so the proprietor didnât think I was just trying to use the loo. He informed me somebody was in there to which I responded I was happy to wait.
What followed was one of the most bizarre episodes of my life, where he completely lost the plot for no apparent reason and began screaming at me repeatedly in front of all the customers present that they were closed. If he didnât want my business, he could have just said that rather than saying something which was patently untrue. He didnât appear at all well so I hope he can get whatever treatment he needs, as other people wonât respond in such a sanguine...
Read moreOne of the most hostile cafes i have ever been to. The main male waiter is extremely rude and should take some lesson on how not to speak to people no menu was given when seated. when ordering he was moaning due to how big our order was. myself and my friend ordered two drinks. he made me walk over to collect my drink but brought my friend's drink over to the table and did the same thing with the food. by shouting ' ah excuse me' to get my attention to collect my food . the restaurant was empty, his other lovely colleague made sure she brought our other food and did not make me leave my seat once. he done this due to his own prejudices. it is deeply upsetting we spent £40 in this horribly overpriced establishment for bitter coffee and dry salad. please avoid and spend your money on the other lovely cafe around the area. as i would rate this the...
Read moreNice place and good coffee but the tall waitress thinks itâs ok to hold her stomach and joke (apropos of nothing) âIâm pregnant and Iâm gonna name it abortionâŚbecause Iâm gonna abort itâ to customers. When I told her she should be wary joking about a subject which may be a sensitive subject for some people, she replied âWhy? Youâre not pro-choice are you? Iâve aborted one before⌠I just think itâs funny because youâre a man, you donât have a uterusâŚthatâs very millennial and old fashionedâ before wrinkling her nose and sarcastically saying âsorry I hurt your feelingsâ
It was an extremely unpleasant and unnecessary exchange delivered with an extremely ugly attitude.
I can only imagine the ire I would have faced had I triggered or offended the waitress in question and her own beliefs.
Thereâs no need to be so hostile...
