Lena's Cafe’ — Restaurant in London

I don't enjoy posting bad reviews based on one experience and especially so for independent places such as this which need our support, however me and my family had a really disappointing breakfast here. Whilst I don't expect premium ingredients in a cafe, this breakfast was made with some of poorest quality ingredients I've ever experienced. The toast which I suspect was made using the cheapest bread you can buy was rock solid despite being millimeters thick. The sausages tasted of oats and breadcrumbs and I reckon contained no more than 10% meat. The bacon was okay but a little burnt around the edges which left the beans which were surprisingly good and fried eggs which also fine. Like I said I don't expect top quality ingredients in a cafe but if you're going to charge me £14.50 for a breakfast then I expect something a little more edible. I know these places have high overheads especially in zone 1 London but I've paid a lot less for far superior quality in other cafes not too far away. Best place to eat around Paddington! Don't go to McD nearby go here! You get small box £6.50, large £7.50 or a plate for £10 ( I belive plate can feed two people) I am kind of civil engineer working for few months nearby, and I love it. You can have so many healthy options like aubergine, cauliflower, lentils, with main course like rise, lasagna, veggie or pasta plus 4 addons from toppings it's almost like Chinese buffet. If you are Gentleman searching for restaurant with table service this is not a place. It's rather like hiker-traveller with rucksack looking for cheap but good food. I have asked the lady how they do it - they walk in to shop every day at 02:00 a.m. and start preparing all food. Well worth trying! I am aware it could be cheaper here or more food like other people say but hey... what do you get in McD for £7.50 ? A big mac meal with fires and coke ......

Service bad - Very rushed! As usual, Box is not filled up and not full. Shake the box to settle down the food to realize a huge space left unfilled where the paid food should be. Either fill up the box or don’t serve it! There’s no two way around this. Stingy with their servings and one still pays the same price. Lots of empty spaces which could be filled with food. Very Disappointing. Bread provided is hard and come expired. Even burnt aubergines or not what you want. Food served in house has huge portions, maybe for preferred customers?! Saw smaller portions in box replaced with much larger ones. Double standards? Favorite customer? Looking for alternative places who are more generous with portions and...
