Ma Ma's Nepalese Kitchen — Restaurant in London

Three years ago, I wandered into Mama’s Nepalese Kitchen in Northfields by accident, and let’s just say my taste buds sent me a thank-you note. This place is a tiny treasure, like finding a parking spot in London on the first try. Small? Yes. Packed with flavor and love? Oh, absolutely. The staff here are basically my BFFs now. They know my order before I open my mouth and greet me like I’m the prodigal child returning home. It’s the kind of welcome that makes you feel fuzzier than a llama sweater. The restaurant’s cozy—think “your mate’s living room but with better spices”—and it’s got all the charm you need. The food? Good grief, it’s magic. The dal is my one true love, so smooth and perfectly spiced I’d write it poetry if I could. Then there’s the “bloody chicken,” which sounds like it’s ready to star in an action movie but tastes like heaven on a plate—spicy, juicy, and downright addictive. The food was fine (I would say average), but the order took so long! It was over an hour late and when I called, the restaurant wasn't helpful. We ordered it based on the good reviews, but weren't impressed. We phoned the restaurant twice to give them an opportunity to rectify the problem, but they didn't. Won't be ordering from there again, and if you're looking for your food to take fewer than two hours, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

Tikka masala was a bit more like I would expect a korma to be, pretty sweet and coconutty.

The Maddy chicken was tasty, but was just a generic curry with green chillies. Medium spicy.

It is not bad, but nothing spectacular as well, after I read the ratings , I went there with high expectations. Or waitress was very nice, hough very busy- you could see her running around all the time, and I guess because she was so busy or order for mixed up. We did not mind at all so we did not even mention it Good was 4* Prices were ok for what you get, Tables are a bit small so or table for 2 had no enough space so that the waitress can place it all on the table. Which makes your experience not so nice

The house white wine was good ( Chardonnay) a bit too much on the sweet side
