I recently dined at a steakhouse that left me utterly disappointed and regretful. From the excruciatingly slow service to the jaw-droppingly expensive prices and the misleading menu, my experience was nothing short of a disaster. Allow me to share the details of my nightmarish visit.
First and foremost, the service was abysmal. The waitstaff seemed to be moving at a glacial pace, leaving me and other customers waiting interminably for even the most basic requests. It felt as if they had forgotten that customers were in the restaurant to enjoy their meals and had instead prioritized their own leisurely pace. The lack of attentiveness and efficiency was simply unacceptable, tarnishing any hope of a pleasant dining experience.
Adding insult to injury was the shockingly high price tag attached to every item on the menu. The exorbitant prices were nothing short of highway robbery, as if they were trying to take advantage of unsuspecting patrons. I understand that quality comes at a cost, but this was an outright exploitation of customers' wallets. It left me feeling swindled and deeply unsatisfied with the value I received for my hard-earned money.
To make matters worse, the menu proved to be misleading when it came to prices. What appeared to be reasonable figures on the menu quickly transformed into astronomical totals on the bill. It seemed as if they intentionally concealed additional charges, leaving customers blindsided and feeling deceived. This kind of dishonesty is not only unethical but also disrespectful to those who entrust their dining experience to the establishment.
Considering the horrendous service, the exorbitant prices, and the deceptive menu practices, I can confidently say that I will never set foot in this restaurant again. The experience was an utter disappointment, and I would strongly advise others to avoid this establishment at all costs. There are far better dining options available that offer superior service, fair prices, and honest business practices.
Save yourself the frustration, inconvenience, and financial burden of a night at this steakhouse. Seek out alternatives that value their customers and deliver a dining experience worth cherishing. This establishment has lost my trust and my patronage, and I hope this review serves as a warning to others seeking a satisfying...
Read moreWhile walking around the magnificent and stunning streets of London, we felt that something was missing from our lives. Suddenly, almost like a miracle, some delicious looking steak cuts laying on the restaurant's window showcase, grabbed my friend and I from the throat and placed us in the restaurant. What I'm trying to say is that the meat on the window really played its part on convincing us to spend our night and money at Macellaio RC Soho.
The service was insane. We had a seat at the bar, directly in front of an Italian Master Chef. The guy was literally on fire, cooking everything on pure wooden charcoal.
The night unfolds with a Molinaccio Rosso Montepulciano Il Golo. Il Golo is a colorful small bird ranging avove Tuscan countryside. It truly amazed us with its purple red dress. It's intriguing nose, young and juvenile in a way to remember those cherries picked up directly from the our grandma's tree when we were children back in Cyprus.
The magic night proceeds with an astonishing Beef Carpaccio. The words seem not enough to describe this dish so I'm just going to leave it at this: The best appetizer that's ever touched my tongue. Absolutely majestic.
Then, our night takes a twist. We decide to go full attack by ordering almost all the grilled dishes on the menu (Sirloin, Fillet, Ribeye). The amazing Italian Master Chef double checked with us to see if our order was correct. This shows great appreciation to both the meat and the customer. Amazing 5 star gold service. Meat was absolutely amazing. Best steak I've ever had in my whole life. All three of them were gone under 10 minutes. It was time for the In-Bone Ribeye steak of 650gr. The chef was stunned by what he was seeing and recognized our love for meat pretty fast. He offered us a larger In-bone Ribeye of 800gr and kindly asked "You think this is enough?". 10 more minutes after the steak was on our table, it was gone again. Insane tender meat straight from the mountains of Britain and Scotland. Cows that spend all their lives eating grass and "Mooing" to just finally reach our humble hungry bellies.
Dessert was amazing too but we'd like a touch of meat on that as well. Shame the Tiramisu wasn't dipped in beef fat or sprinkled with some meat flakes rather coffee powder.
Will definitely visit again. 100%...
Read moreAfter watching a video recommendation — which may have featured a different location — we decided to try an Italian steakhouse that, unfortunately, did not meet expectations. While the steak was tender, it lacked depth of flavor and was, at best, mediocre.
Upon arrival, we viewed the steaks on display and asked the first waiter for guidance between the English and Italian cuts. We mentioned our preference for Entrecôte, but the waiter seemed unfamiliar with the term. After repeating ourselves, it became clear he didn’t know what Entrecôte was — a surprising oversight for a steakhouse. In hindsight, that should have been a warning sign.
The pepper sauce served with the steak was overpowering and masked what little flavor the meat had. There was no Béarnaise option available. The salad was overly sour, the tomatoes lacked sweetness, and the wine glass arrived only half full and with room temperature. It seemed the staff noticed our disappointment, as service after the main course was virtually nonexistent. No one checked in to ask how the meal was, and we left without so much as a farewell. A complimentary limoncello was offered, but it did little to improve the overall experience so I said no thanks.
We paid £330 for two adults and two children — a price that included a dry burger for one of the kids. For comparison, we dined at Flat Iron the same week for a quarter of the cost and found the food and service there to be far superior.
Overall, this was a major letdown. The only thing that felt premium was the price. Even at half the cost, the value would remain questionable. While the meat quality was acceptable, it did not justify the expense — making this feel more like a costly misstep than a memorable dining experience.
One of the most expensive...
