Outstanding service from from beginning to end. Probably the best I have recieved anywhere. Very difficult to find a place that has great food and great service and this place was exceptional in both departments. Parking is tricky and you will probably end up having to park far away. Manager arshani was very polite and accommodating on our requests and dietary requirements despite initial inflexibility. Franco took care of us throughout the evening and he was friendly informative and very attentive. Everything you want and need from waiting staff. Even when he wasn't there his colleague would step in and was also great. The starts on the set menu are outstanding and the quality of some of the produce is excellent. The lamb choose are divine and prepped so well. The paneer was soft. Personally I proffered the starters over the mains.
Lamb chops I'd give 9.0 out of 10. Just need to render the fat or trim little more if possible. Seekh kebabs had good flavour 8 out of 10. Chilli paneer 9 out of 10. Amazing flavours. Alloo tikki chaat had great flavour but could do with another crunch texture like onion and or sev. Salmon was cooked to perfection and lightly spiced. 9 out of 10. Chicken tikka was okay.7.5 out.of.10. The chutneys were brilliant. 10 The raita 10 for me. New concept of having carrot but worked so well. Could eat that on its own. The plain rice was amazing. Such a simple thing that was cooked to perfection. Could have happily eaten this on its own with raita. 10 ,amazing. Dhaal makhani was great 9 Paneer main again delicious .8 Chicken methi was okay. 7 Lamb curry was great. 8 Paratha and naan were great. 8 Dessert was lovely. Would give 9. Perhaps a sorbet or option of something a bit light at the end after eating such a rich feast. Appreciate the little dessert plate with happy anniversary writing. This was done without prompt. Very thoughtful and I appreciated the gesture. Overall I loved this place for the outstanding service and excellent food. I will definitely come back with friends and familly. Don't think I have ever tipped anyone so much in my life but my host deserved it. Well done guys a great evening from a well run establishment. Keep.up the great...
Read morePassing through LHR on an overnight stay, I had dinner for one at Madhu's on the advice of hotel staff. I enjoy finding exquisite Indian food whenever I'm in the UK; Madhu's did not disappoint!
The decor is vibrant but tasteful, evoking traditional South Asian design without seeming stodgy. The restaurant was full of families and birthday-celebration groups, which did make for a bit of a racket, but everyone was clearly having a great time.
I found the service to be impeccable: I was seated within 3 minutes of arrival (with apologies for the delay!) and an assortment of papadums with chutneys arrived literally before I had sat down. My drink order was taken within a minute of being seated, and my waiter, Denny, swung by to answer any questions I might have about the menu.
Ordering as a solo diner was a bit of a challenge because the food at Madhu's is clearly meant to be shared with a larger group. I ordered nalli gosht as my main, and on Denny's advice, the rabota prawns as a starter. My cocktail and both dishes arrived quickly, with excellent sequencing, and I enjoyed both of them very much. The lamb was so succulent that I even enjoyed eating the fat and connective tissue -- truly the mark of quality meat that has been well prepared! My cocktail blended perfectly with the flavors of the meal, and I found myself sampling the pulao rice by itself simply to enjoy its delicate aroma and texture.
I'd happily return to Madhu's any time, although I hope to be with a much larger group next time in order to sample more of the amazing variety of foods, especially the innovative and delicious...
Read moreWe booked a table at Madhu’s Southall based on a friend’s recommendation and arrived 30 minutes early. Thankfully, the staff were accommodating and seated us without issue. Once seated, we were given menus, and about 10 minutes later, our order was taken. I went for their so-called signature Butter Chicken Starter — and it was an absolute disaster. It had zero flavour, just red-coloured boiled chicken. We had to return it, though to be fair, the waiter replaced it politely with another starter. After finishing that, we waited over 25 minutes for our main course — and still nothing. Frustrated, I asked a manager to pack our food for takeaway. I couldn’t wait any longer. The manager was polite, gave us a 10% discount, and even added a complimentary chocolate cake, which I appreciated. But the disappointment continued at home. The chicken curry was watery and bland, and the Rumali Roti was thick and dry — completely off from what it should be. In the end, my girlfriend and I couldn’t eat any of it. While the staff were polite and the service was respectful, the food and the long wait times — especially during an off-peak, non-busy time — completely ruined our evening. To be honest, based on the flavours and presentation, this isn’t really an Indian restaurant. It feels more like it’s tailored to an Indo-Kenyan palate, likely reflecting the background of the owner. They should be upfront about that instead of branding it as authentic Indian cuisine. Thanks, Madhu’s Southall, for ruining our evening. Definitely...
