I have been to this restaurant twice now. Unfortuantely it has been really really disappointing both times. The staff are rude and unattentive, if you expect eye contact, a smile or noises that are actually words not just grunts from waitresses do not go here. The food is also very disappointing, the menu is small and does not offer much choice. On my first visit I had a noodle soup and it wasn't too bad, nothing special but nothing bad. On my second visit my boyfriend and I were particually hungry so we thought we would splash out and try a bit of everything - massive disappointment. I sent my main back immediately, tried the rest of the food at it was so disappointing, we had one bit of each dish and decided there was no way we would pay over £40 for what we had been served. We apologised politely and left a tip for their trouble, however were still told that we were rude and 'unhumanitarian' (I mean come on what?) for not paying for our meal.
Only place in Brixton village that I have had a bad experience, to top it off it wasn't just one but 2 bad experiences. Really disappointing. Never going back.
I would also advise if it were my restaurant I would give the staff some training in customer service and courtesy, or hire some new ones. Oh, whilst we were there one waitress also spilt a customers drink all over their apple...

Came here on weds night and it was packed notwithstanding that the night was cold and there were only 2-3 tables inside and the other 6 tables were outside in the cold.
As mentioned previously the waitresses were overworked with only 2 to serve the entire restaurant and we felt neglected and even though they apologised we still felt like we had to flag down whoever wandered close to our table to order.
However once you manage to squeeze in your order it does come very very swiftly. I would recommend the spicy beef noodle soup. Although some of the beef were slightly chewy (due to the beef cuts not the cooking) the noodles were notably hand made and fresh. Soup was not too hot so it's enjoyable.
Also recommend the pork dumplings (we ordered the prawn and the mushroom as well but both were incomparable).
The teas served were quite nice. I had the ginger rock sugar tea which was a large serving and was delightful.
Would not hesitate to go and try their other three branches. Particularly looking forward to the large branch in Stratford Olympic village.
Meal for two with tea came...
Read moreWe sat down to a nice looking choice of restaurant with a great menu settled on the bao buns, they were busy with deliveries and bubble tea, maybe short staffed and over worked, we ordered drinks (cans for £2.50 X3) a bump pricewise but we were thirsty, they didn't come, we asked again and then 5 mins later got the same order for £1.20 total at the off-licence literally 5m away. They didn't serve the food we have gone back to the front to ask to cancel the drinks as now it was 25 mins and we have quenched our thirst. The starters now came. Great tasted amazing and a fantastic apertizer for the mains, waiting again, they never came, upon asking they have now said they ran out, many deliveries later they possibly sent them for people who ordered on deliveroo rather than their customers sitting at the restaurant. Unfortunately never tired them, we were refunded apologised and left. Would possibly go again, just hopefully this...
