One of the worst places I’ve visited in my entire life. Couple of days ago me and my partner had a lovely evening at Hyde park - winter wonderland- and decided to have a walk after wards. It was late at night (1am) when we stumbled upon this place. And we were surprised to discover that it’s still open at this hours. So we walked in expecting to have some drinks and authentic deserts. At first stuff were friendly, they offered us table on the first floor. After waiter brought us menu we ordered kettle of green tea. When he came back we said that we are not hungry for main, but would like smth sweet to go with tea. The waiter became furious. He raised his hands in air and started waiving them in all possible directions all that while hysterically screaming at us. He said and I quote “that’s a proper meal restaurant, you don’t have right to come here and order only tea and dessert you need to order food, you can’t stay here etc” He kept screaming at us for solid 5 minutes, while all other guests at restaurant stared at us. I suggested that if rules of this place doesn’t allow guests to order without mains - they should’ve notified us beforehand, or better but sign on the door with such condition. Overall it was terrifying and scary experience. I have met unpleasant stuff before. But this man was straightforward agressive and dangerous. I will never go back to this place as I would be terrified to go inside to meet this man again. What if next next time he wouldn’t like my order and will decide to hit me?
After waiter was done with his screaming ge left and came back with a small plate of bakhlava, but he didn’t even bother to put plate on a table, instead he threw it onto table and baklava rolled all around table cloth. I talked to my partner that we should definitely leave bad review for this place. Because this is not only unpleasant place, but even dangerous to visit. Apparently waiter overheard it, because when he came with the bill he suddenly started to smile and said that “you shouldn’t be upset with me, u just told you how rules work in London, because you didn’t know”
Excuse me?! Rules in London? Why in all years I’ve spent in london and all places I’ve been too, this is first time stuff member allowing himself to become agressive and scream on the top of his lungs because I ordered smth he didn’t like?
Dear restaurant Maroush, are you sure this is how rules in London work? Or just in your weird terrible place?
For all other people reading this, I strongly recommend to avoid Maroush at all cost if you don’t want to be harassed, endangered or...

Read moreIt is a fact that I abhor Ed Sheeran for the same reason as I adore Maroush :- FOR THE SAKE OF HUMANITY . God works in mysterious ways. and slowly over the years his plan has slowly revealed itself. I believe it is a basic human right that we should all get an equal opportunity to experience a Maroush lamb shawarma wrap during our lifetime. With so many branches around , there are fewer excuses not to have enjoyed one, be it at my old haunt for a quickie sit down here at Beauchamp Place , Edgware Road for a hit 'n' run takeaway , or my current favourite for a civilised seated treat on the King's Road. I would of course mention Maroush on Vere Street but I'll be damned if I share my favourite Lebanese hangout with a bunch of strangers. Oh but their freshly baked bread and that fattoush salad , or the chicken livers , if not the grilled garlic chicken wings or the spicy lamb sausage with that lamb shawarma hommmmmous.......
Some go for the chicken shawarma for I am sure their own sincere ( but sincerely misguided ) reasons. I say why would any alchemist continue to experiment when gold is already staring you in the face ?
As a creature of habit I have always bought a mixed fruit coctail shake as a sidekick to my beloved lamb shawarma. For me it is a must. Kinda like Laurel and Hardy , Morcambe and Wise , Fidel and Che . ....You get the drift They are just a perfect pair. If you don't get my drift , you may well be a fan of Ed Sheeran ....In which case I cannot help you.....
Now please stop reading this nonsense and...
