We went here for dinner as a group of 10. We were informed that only the smapler menu would be served to our group and could not order the al la cartr. That was no problem as made the decisions simpler. We also had one vegetarian in the group.

For starters, we were served a beetroot salad, which was delishas, the smoked mackerel was tasty too with the potato and rocket, and the 3rd started was carpaccio again tasty. These 3 dishes were tasty also woth the fact we were very hungry. But i felt they were too simple and something a novoce chef with no training could conjoir up. Maybe my expectations were a lottle too high. We were then served 3 types of steaks in sharong skillets. 1. Prime rib 2. Sirloin 3. T bone. There was confusion with what syeak was, what from the waiting staff, and they couldn't identify the steaks correctly. We opted for the steaks to be medium, and they were cooked perfectly. In honest opinion, the sirloin lacked flavour and didn't feel like a great quality expected from Hawksmoor, but the prime rib and the t bone were beautiful. Our vegetarian guest, after being told there was a mistake, was told her food would arrive 15 minutes delayed. This was a little upsetting, but we didn't mind as there were some sides on the table, like the creamed spinach parsnip mash and chips. This, too, seemed to be a problem. We asked for a plate so she could eat some sides, but she was told her plate would come with her mains. This was annoying as the whole table was eating. We asked again and yet no retirn with a plate. Finally, i had to go collect a plate from the serging counter. I was shocked, but at this point, i wanted my guest to enjoy. The sides were pleasant, but the creamed spinach and the parsnips were beutiful honestly really enjoyed the flavour they added to the meal. The chips were not enough to feed the whole party. So i would suggest maybe if lile me you like a balnced plate order some extras. Dessert was served pretty unmemorable a chocolate lava cake, and i forgot the other item, but this is Hawksmoore, a renound steak place, so i wasn't too bothered by dessert.

We drank a magnum bottle of wine deffo a great selection there and the old fashioned's are nice.

Overall, it was enjoyable due to being with a great group. But it felt like im the harverster of steak houses, not what i expected from one of the popular steak houses in london.

Opps, i must mention that due to the issue with the vegetarian meal, they did remove it off the bill. Which was a kind gesture, but i hate not paying for things. We eat drink we pay. If we dont enjoy it, we dont go again. it's...

Supposed to be wheelchair friendly but the knackered ramp they brought out to get me over the hug strap in the front door was the start of the downtrend. The service was fabulous until we opted for the express menu and asked for the corkage charge to drink our own wine 🙁The food was disappointing for me but my husband enjoyed his starter of beef & bacon potted meat whereas my smoked mackerel salad was full of mackerel bones, the potatoes were still hard in the middle and were drowned in a horseradish dressing which was far too overpowering for me ! The mains, both steaks were pretty good but both had sinewy strips which were difficult to cut and the chips had been cooked until the potato inside had disappeared into its crispy outer casing leaving greasy husks in place of plump chips. The atmosphere was chaotic and as we were unable to tell staff apart from customers with their lack of even a uniform clothes colour, never mind an actual uniform or even a meagre Hawksmoor apron ?? The restaurant was busy but the atmosphere was totally filled with the ‘ staff ’ running round like headless chickens….. we had 5 different members of staff looking after our table throughout our visit despite the lady who had been introduced as the person who would “ be looking after you tonight “ …… we never saw her again !! The service charge was covered by the card machine lady saying “ oh and the service charge is included here “ ….. no mention of it being optional !! We won’t be returning to a Hawksmoor restaurant, overrated and overpriced...

Unfortunately seems like Hawksmoor may have joined the group of restaurants whereby your seating position is based on your race. I'm a seasoned restaurant reviewer with over 24million views so quite familiar with all this Booked a table for one, quick dinner early Friday evening. I was sat by myself at the bar area even though the main restaurant wasn't full. I thought it was just a coincidence but no other guests came to the area throughout my entire meal. All others were led into the restaurant with no waiting time at all As I was leaving , a black couple came in and they were ushered to the same area I was. Would I go back or recommend, definitely not. This is January the slowest month for restaurants so there's no way it can be argued that they were fully booked The food was just okay. Well seasoned steak but too dry so had to order 2 sets of sauces. My recommendation if you still want to visit, Request to be seated in the main restaurant and if declined dine elsewhere. The bar area is basically at the steps at the entrance and cloak room.

Hawksmoor has long enjoyed its reputation as one of London’s temples of beef, and with good reason. The service here is spot-on: warm, attentive, and ready to smooth over any potential hiccup with ease. It’s the sort of hospitality that makes you feel both cared for and never crowded. The real star, naturally, is the meat. Hawksmoor’s cuts are second to none — perfectly aged, flawlessly cooked, and available in a gloriously wide range that will tempt even the most indecisive carnivore. Each bite reaffirms why this steakhouse has become a benchmark in the capital. If there’s a drawback, it’s the lighting. The moody atmosphere may aim for intimacy, but the result is something closer to fumbling: difficult to read the menu, and a shame when the dishes themselves deserve to be admired as much as tasted. Still, if you’re seeking steak nirvana in London, Hawksmoor remains a pilgrimage worth making — just bring your appetite (and perhaps a torch).

As we decided to have an early dinner at about 5:30 pm, we decided to try the express menu which was available from 5 to 6:30 pm on Monday to Saturday. (you have to ask for the menu as they don’t give it to you when you sit down.) A two-course meal was £29 and a three course was £33. I wanted the three course meal, but the portion was huge. I had potted beef with Yorkshire puddings for appetiser and rump steak with chips for main. We ordered Hawksmoor Cesar as a side also (£7) but I would not order it again next time. We had a drink each consist of wine and a pineapple soda. The total bill came to £95 which I felt was a great value for the quality and quantity of food that we had.
