First ever visit for dine in (usually takeaway hot drinks or cake in parsons green or Richmond when working). We got asked many times to order drinks when we arrived but we both waited to wash our hands first and there are only two toilets (one is forever locked it seems). I ordered hot water which was barely lukewarm until I ordered again when it came hot. Also got the mint and passion drink which was so diluted in water and ice that we could barely taste it (maybe that’s how it is?) Issue was mainly with the Megan’s feast sharing platter we got. The waitress didn’t go over what’s what on the plate and didn’t have the answers when we asked. Poppy came across a bit on the edge as the place was fairly busy when our food came. The food was room temperature except the shakshuka which was in hot tomato sauce - that was the ONLY warm thing in our main. We didn’t even finish 5% of the lamb. We added the chicken pieces inside shakshuka to have it with warm sauce otherwise there was no other way to have it. Halloumi was non existent pretty much - two tiniest slices in the platter which is £21pp. Fries were so cold I thought they were from early morning being served for dinner. Luckily for us, the kind manager allowed us to swap with sweet potato fries which they forgot about so when they did arrive, they were nice and hot. Honestly the highlight of the meal was the sweet potato fries even though the portion was small (I think there was an error because Poppy did come out with normal portion later but we already ate some of the other ones her colleague gave us).
The service was so slow after we ordered mains that we waited a long time to find out what the cookie dough of the day was but no one came towards our side. We then decided to get the bill and leave. When the service charge was removed, no one bothered checking what went wrong. Poppy just looked annoyed and asked to tap the card for us to leave. Might go back in future once I’m over the bad food I ate tonight. Still need to try the...

As a professional photographer, light is VERY important to me. The attention to detail in decoration and lighting instantly resonated with me. Cozy and warm atmosphere is so important!
Then immediately we were seated by a lovely woman with excellent energy, tone and service 🙏 happy and genuine, not over the top or fake. Just excited to be of service.
We mentioned it was our 2nd year anniversary when she asked if this was our first visit. We simply mentioned it in excitement to why we chose a new place for our dinner.
Along with the starter comes a whole bottle of Prosecco to congratulate us!! 😳😳😍😍 Now that is exceptional! Without us even having the slightest intention of trying to get something for free 😅
Another woman came to help us with drinks and water and same here, excellent attitude and service. Food taste amazing as well and you can tell it’s cooked properly and with love and expertise 👌👌👌
Then we ask if one can buy the bottles for our wedding, and the waitress goes to bring the manager to help us. He as well was very kind and congratulated us on our anniversary and future wedding.
Just the sheer amount of genuine good energy and high level service in this place is beyond excellent!! I’ve travelled and lived around the world for the last 12 years and it’s still a rarity to find a place that combines such good quality of food and service with a lovely atmosphere.
This will be my go-to place in Wimbledon for years! Oh and did I mentioned we got a cute dessert with the number 2 on it as well as a surprise?! 😍🙏
I hope both the kitchen and the service staff reads this and take pride in the amazing evening you...
Read moreI have visited Megan’s in surbiton, Kingston, and 2 branches in Clapham - tonight was my first time visiting Wimbledon to take my fiancé for his birthday and it was a very disappointing experience to say the least. Every branch I’ve ordered, I’ve requested for the chicken from the mezze platter for 2 to be substituted for lamb - this has never been an issue at any other branch. Tonight I was told by the waiter he would need to check with the manager which is not a problem, it was agreed to however when the food arrived it was just one singular portion instead of for two - and it was burnt. When pointing this out to the waiter I was told the chef said it’s the right portion so he there’s not much he can do but to wait. We waited 10 minutes and no one came. At this point we were so hungry we just started eating the rest of the platter - then the manager suddenly appeared and apologised, went to the chef and brought back a small plate of extra lamb to the table. The service was awful, we asked for water but the alcoholic drinks were served first and water forgotten about until reminding the waiter. The ‘night cap’ advertised was not valid as it’s Wimbledon week - something I wasn’t made aware of when I called to book the table. I have never had a bad experience at any other Megan’s branch and although I appreciate it was busier than normal due to Wimbledon week, it was extremely disappointing and put a downer on what should’ve been a nice birthday meal for my fiancé. Safe to say I will not...
