The food, service and uncomfortable table and chairs detract from the splendid setting. The salads looked uninspiring, the salmon looked anemic and the woman serving was both abrupt. I had one of their overly expensive egg/avocado/tomato sandwiches. It was made with insipid, pale eggs - lacking flavour and seasoning. The avocado was under ripe and the only real flavour came from the bread. The service was also disappointing. My wife asked the man behind the till what was in a specific cake and his response was to ‘read the sign’. The member's room offers the same food options as the public area, known as the Djanogly Café, and much the same (I think as the Tate Modern), I would call it a modern cafe cuisine, which seems to cater for most diets.

It's self-service, but often less of a queue and usually a seat, and one can often go through into the salon and if super lucky get a window seat over the Thames...
