Michael's Chinese - Stepney — Restaurant in London

The worst place I have ever made the mistake of doing business with. We placed a large expensive order from this pathetic place through Uber Eats but whilst unpacking the food we realised some items (the overpriced mains) were missing. We called the restaurant and explained to them politely, only to be met with disbelief and mockery. We were instructed to look all over our house to see if the missing food was there, then we were accused of lying. When we insisted that they had taken our money but not given us the food we had paid for, the unprofessional, rude and plain idiotic man on the phone accused the Uber Eats driver of stealing the food and said its not his problem. He said it serves us right for ordering through uber eats and not directly through the restaurant. He made no acknowledgement of his rudeness or mistake, let alone offer a refund or replacement for the missing food. The rudest man I have ever had the misfortune of speaking to. The food that did manage to get packed was rubbish - the crispy fried duck was cold and dry as cardboard and in a tiny portion, smaller than a child's hand. Ridiculous!!! AVOID...

Placed order at 8:57pm via Just Eat. Estimated delivery for 10pm. Called them at 10:25pm, they said food has just left. On just they specified food had arrived at 10:26pm. In actuality food came at 10:40.

Ordered: Salt pepper Chicken Wings: Fine and edible Seaseme prawns toast: no flavoring or seasoning. Mix Starter: -Veg spring rolls with fried sea weed: spring rolls were dampish with a foul taste and sea weed was it crispy. Chicken Satey: chicken was dry as if from previous day food and did not taste like satay rather tandoori chicken. -Lamb ribs: seems like refried as the meat was ultra dry.

Shredded Beef Peking - tasted like chewing on plastic with a minuscule shreds that looked like beef. Cooked in chea peking sauce.

I would not have left this review, however when I saw that they specified delivery at 10:25pm on Just Eat, when I called then chasing my food and also it arrived at 10:40pm. It was my first and last...

This is the by far worst Chinese food I've ever eaten in my life. The Chow Mein was so dry that I had to add some sesame oil in order for it to be edible, it also lacked salt. The Singapore fried rice and the Roasted Shredded duck fried rice was not seasoned enough and lacked flavour. I also ordered chicken in black bean sauce and beef in black bean sauce, which was pretty decent but again, it did lack flavour. However, the Szechuan chicken was the worst. I felt as if I was eating a bamboo shoot curry because of how much there was in the container, and only a couple of pieces of chicken when it was meant to be a chicken dish!
