At first we were a bit sad to realize that Boyce Da Roca was closed but were pleasantly surprised by how good the food was at Monkey Leaf Cafe. They’ve revamped the inside - it’s a cute and colorful. You can tell they’ve put effort into the decor and quality of the food, everything tasted fresh and yummy. I had poached eggs on sourdough toast (YUM) with an almond milk cappuccino. My husband had the veggie breakfast plate (and devoured it) with a mocha. Looks like they have a bar and a fun evening food menu. Service is okay, they were polite but definitely going through some learnings as they’ve just opened. We’ll definitely be back - maybe even for the their tapas in the evening!

What a fantastic place! Really tasty food and drink, everything beautifully presented and garnished - so much attention to detail! 😍 The breakfast burrito I had was quite wonderfully light and fresh, with the gentle crunch of the edamame giving a nice textual contrast to the softness of the egg. Their numerous variations on eggs Benedict are well worth exploring - with pulled pork, smoked salmon, chorizo... Their cocktails alone are worth coming for; their truffled take on a bloody Mary is phenomenal. Came here as a treat for brunch on Sunday but look forward to working my way through the rest of the menu - it all looks amazing!

Vegetarian Sunday Roast like no other. Finally found a place that does proper, tasty vegetarian version of the famous Sunday Roast. The nut roast served by the Monkey Leaf is not your boring piece of veg or even worse, paper-like meat imitation served to tick the box. It is actually well balanced, juicy and satisfying meal with amazing onion gravy and perfectly cooked root veggies. This should be an Everyday Roast. My partner said, the chicken option was also delicious. Great selection of juices and smoothies and other options on the menu worth trying. I'll be back!

The food here is fresh, tasty and will never receive a bad review from me. However, the attitude of the male staff member that serves us? Absolutely awful.

I’m not sure what it is about this place, but the vibe of this restaurant is never positive. It’s small, packed with a lot of things and the seating is quite tight. The facial expressions and attitude of the staff member who works on the floor doesn’t help at all.

I’m unsure if it’s because I visit the restaurant during the weekdays where it tends to be quiet, but the fact that the server isn’t able to crack a smile at least once during my visit, really puts a damper on things. I’d be lying if I said he’s ever been outright rude to me but the lack of attention, bluntness and overall atmosphere has put me off on ever returning again.

It’s a shame as this has been my new go to spot after Perfect Blend closed down. Guess I’ll have to find somewhere else. If you’re reading this Sir, please don’t work in a customer facing job if you have no desire to actually be polite to customers. It seems that you prefer to sit in the corner on your laptop instead of actually being attentive to those within...

As self-proclaimed brunch aficionados, we arrived with high expectations, fuelled by glowing reviews, and left with full hearts & bellies, and the delightful feeling that we’d just discovered a new favourite.

We ordered the chorizo and egg with Hollandaise, a dish that hit every note. We paired it with a generous Mimosa made with fresh orange juice, the kind that lets you know that this place cares.

The wonderful owner welcomed us like regulars (despite it being our first visit) and the lovely lady assisting customers added warmth and charm to the whole experience. Hospitality at its best. Compliments to the chef too for this food wizardry.

The music? Just the right touch of café lounge sophistication, setting the pace for a relaxed Sunday morning. We can’t wait to return and explore the rest of the menu.

This wasn’t just brunch, it’s brunch done with style...

This was one of the best lunches in recent memory on Saturday 4th Nov 23. We ordered calamari for starter and it was just perfectly crispy but tender at the same time with only a touch of batter additional plus tasty fresh chillies and spring onion rings. The main course pan fried sea bass filet on a very tasty seafood stew with shrimps, mussels, clams baby spinach and some potatoes exceeded all expectations and we have eaten fish and seafood in many restaurants in London, Amsterdam, Greece and other parts of the world, this has to be among the very best. And also really excellent value for money the main course had plenty of everything, big portion and cost less than 17£. Very discrete, attentive, friendly service. Everything else in the other tables looked really good too. You really need to...
