Last weekend, we had the pleasure of celebrating my sister's baby shower at Roots, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfectly setting the tone for our special occasion. The staff at Roots truly went above and beyond to make our celebration exceptional. They were attentive, accommodating, and genuinely seemed to care about making our event memorable. Don’t go here. Extremely disappointing behaviour my the manager himself or the head. Me and my aunt were passing by and thought to try out the lunch deal and that’s our biggest mistake. First we had missed the lunch timing deal but the guy said he would let us sit in a very arrogant way which had already threw us off. We only had just entered the shop that he started asking what we were planning to get and as we wanted to try it out and then maybe order we told him half chicken and chips deal. That’s when he became very rude and said “are you serious” “if you want to sit here you have to order more things not just one” in a very arrogant and impolite way making us feel embarrassed and uncomfortable as he was saying this all in front of customers and waiters. He then told us that he wouldn’t serve us because we weren’t ordering “enough” bear in mind we don’t eat a lot anyways so we would only order what we could eat obviously and were obligated to order loads of dishes if we didn’t want to. We were going to be paying customers we weren’t coming in and asking for freebies. Seriously he was so ill mannered to be the head of that restaurant being rude and snobbish even when we entered the shop and even when we left. Absolutely outstanding experience at Roots Restaurant in Streatham! From the moment we contacted the restaurant, we were impressed by the warm and friendly customer service. Charles, the owner, went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was memorable.

Upon visiting the restaurant, Charles welcomed us with open arms and even treated us to a taste of his delicious food. We were immediately sold on booking our event there. Charles kept in touch leading up to the party, providing reassurance and ensuring everything was in place.

The day of the party exceeded our expectations. The food was exceptional - freshly made and perfectly seasoned. Even our picky eaters were delighted with the variety of choices on the party menu. The portion sizes were generous, and every dish was a hit.

A special mention to Charles and the staff for their impeccable service. They made the birthday celebration extra special by playing Stevie Wonder's "Happy Birthday" song as the cake arrived. It's clear that Roots is a family business with a passion for serving their customers.
