I visited on Saturday as a group of 6 people, after seeing a show in Central London. The time was roughly 9.30pm when my boyfriend and I headed outside for a cigarette. Whilst outside, we shared a quick kiss (it's worth pointing out at this point that my boyfriend and I are both male). Then, when we tried to head back into the pub to join our friends the bouncer denied our entry due to "inappropriate behaviour". When we asked the bouncer exactly what it was that we had done that was inappropriate, he was unable to answer the question and kept stumbling over his words, whilst just explaining that we could not re-enter and that we had been "inappropriate".

We asked the bouncer to speak to the manager - he said we were not allowed to, however said that we could come inside to collect our belongings. When we got back inside the pub, our group of friends (2 x straight couples) couldn't believe that we had to leave the pub and demanded to speak to the bar staff.

After talking to the 2 straight men in our group, the bar staff then ensured that we could remain within the pub and eventually the bouncer came to apologise to my boyfriend and I. We declined his apology and further requested to know what we did which was so "inappropriate". He still couldn't answer.

It's shocking & gross to see a how such a popular establishment in one of the most cosmopolitan areas in London can be so openly homophobic, especially in this day and age.

It was super disappointing and sad - this event had quite an impact...

Went with family today and bought numerous drinks, was over charged to which I did question it twice to be told, 'it is an expensive bar' but that did get sorted only because the wife did percever with it and ask for a receipt and then you could see that they had charged for an extra drink. Then the really bad customer service. The pint that I ordered (IPA) was completely flat and lifeless with no Head, it looked like a flat pint of coke. Anybody with any experience could see the pint was not right But I was told by the bar staff that it's a real ale it's meant to be warm and flat (it sounded like they were reading from a script and describing the difference between lager and a real ale)To which I said it's still not right, it either needed pulling faster or a nozzle on the end of the pump, the manager was called over who repeated the same thing it's meant to be flat and warm...they clearly have no experience with rea ale. All they had to do was offer to replace the pint, I wasnt after something for nothing. Extremely poor customer service!! Covent garden has some fantastic, cafes restaurant and pubs but would avoid the Nags Head, because if something goes wrong they just dont...

I had hunters chicken which nearly cost £16 so my expectations were very high! I order this meal a lot in other restaurants I go to, this was the worst one I've had, it was 2 thin slices of stringy chicken. A burnt bit of bacon, the BBQ sauce was like brown water, it was obviously microwaved as the sauce was all burnt onto the edges of the bowl it was in. The coleslaw was not homemade & tasteless, chips were ok but quite greasy, my daughter felt sorry for me & have me some of her fish. It took the staff ages to take our order we had to ask. when 2 of us had finished a waitress just started taking out plates away saying absolutely nothing revive my other daughter was still eating when she realised there was no apology then they had the nerve to put a service charge on our bill which I got removed or was expensive enough & the staff did the bare minimum No refund was offered the waitress said next time you come hopefully it will be better!! I don't live in London & I would never waste any more money there We have been to Chinatown to eat a lot on our visits, you can eat as much as you like, it's half the price & the food is good...

We’re visiting from Australia and, after spending 4 hours exploring the incredible British Museum and wandering through Covent Garden Market, we were ready for a late lunch around 2pm. When we stepped into this authentic British pub, we were welcomed by a friendly atmosphere, though it was quite busy downstairs. Luckily, we found a cosy, quieter space upstairs that was thoughtfully decorated and had a quirky charm. Cameron greeted us warmly and was incredibly helpful when we couldn’t decide on drinks. After a long day of sightseeing, the Porn Star Martini was just what we needed. For lunch, we enjoyed classic British pub fare – I had the Cumberland Sausage & Mash, which was delicious, and my husband went for the Fish & Chips (the size of that fish!). Aaron was attentive and shared some great local tips. I highly recommend this traditional English pub for anyone visiting London. It offers great value, tasty food, a wide range of drinks, and friendly, attentive service. Thanks for a memorable experience!

Well after being turned away with Panda Jr (u18) it was a welcome relief for two weary travellers to flop down in the plush seats and cosy environs of a famously named pub (even if it isn't off of only fools). They have a kids menu and for central London the prices almost bordered on reasonable. This makes it a must visit if you're in need of refreshment in these parts. A clean well lit interior awaits, plenty tables and chairs, and bar staff who are polite, friendly, and knowledgeable. We're happy to answer questions and check for answers to one's they couldn't answer. Hats off to the landlord - they have a well trained team. Food wise the portions are immense and my poor little soldier was defeated by the kids fish chips and peas. I tackled a decent pie that was really rather good. Pint of the house lager and I can confirm it's a decent enough drop. All in all I am very happy to recommend this place and will return next time I'm in the area.

Visited for an early pre-theatre dinner, the central location in Covent Garden just across from the underground station makes The Nags Head perfect for this. We were seated upstairs in the dining room and table service was provided. We ordered the fish and chips and a pie. Meals arrived quickly and were very good. The drinks selection is extensive and has something for everyone. It got increasingly busy over the course of the evening and walk-ins were being turned away so I'd suggest making a reservation like we did. Keep in mind there is a £10 deposit if you reserve online and they credit this against your bill, just be sure to check this as initially they didn't include it and we had to get it adjusted, they were very apologetic and I think it was an honest mistake. All in all an enjoyable traditional pub experience in the heart of the action. Would recommend!
