Not good. I found it to be a cold impersonal tourist trap with no atmosphere and pretty inattentive staff. It took the joy out of our night out and I felt about as welcome as covid. I would not go back under any circumstances.

Update: I have a response below and will call over the weekend if possible or by Monday at the latest.

Update: I just tried to call. Phone rang for three minutes and then I was cut off. Left a message. Am not calling back. But if it assists, here are some detailed suggestions: Have staff acknowledge someone waiting at the bar; make sure bar staff know who is next; if there are several people waiting and bar staff are not serving, they should step in; smiles and talking to a customer show the customer that they are valued and not someone who is stopping them from going home; listen to the order - get the size of product right and don't forget part of the order altogether; seating and ambience of a good standard of comfort encourages people to stay and spend more - the open area downstairs scores lowly in this respect in my view and, finally, remember that you are charging a lot of money for your product that is cheaper in equally prestigious parts of London (the City, Westminster, St Pauls, Knightsbridge and Borough Market/the South Bank) and Londoners know that.

Update/Reply: Thanks PJ, much...

On Sunday around 5:30 PM, my husband and I visited your establishment. I was finishing a green tea ice cream as we entered, and we were approached by an employee who informed us, rather aggressively, that food was not allowed inside. My husband politely asked if we could simply throw it away, but instead of accommodating our request, the employee insisted that we leave immediately.

I tried to assure him that I would finish the ice cream quickly and outside, but he continued to insist that we leave, and at one point, he pushed me. This physical contact was completely unnecessary and made me feel uncomfortable and harassed. I calmly asked him not to touch me and questioned why he was being so aggressive. Instead of de-escalating the situation, he raised his voice further, asking, “Why can’t I push you?”

We were both taken aback by this treatment, especially since we were behaving respectfully and were simply trying to comply with the rules. This experience left us feeling extremely uncomfortable and disrespected.

I wanted to bring this to your attention as this behavior is unacceptable, and I hope appropriate measures can be taken to prevent this from happening to others in the future.

I looked for a manager and they said he is downstairs. But didn’t the manager and we ended up just...

I stopped by Punch and Judy for breakfast and decided to keep it simple with just chicken tenders and a Coke—and honestly, it turned out to be one of the most satisfying meals I’ve had in a long time.

The chicken tenders were a real highlight: perfectly golden, crisp on the outside, and incredibly juicy inside. You could tell they were freshly made rather than something thrown in a fryer. The seasoning was spot on, giving each bite a delicious, comforting flavor. Paired with an ice-cold Coke, it was the perfect no-fuss breakfast that really hit the spot.

The atmosphere at Punch and Judy was warm and welcoming, and the staff couldn’t have been nicer—they treated even a simple order like mine with genuine care and attention. It made the whole experience feel special, even though I wasn’t having the “typical” breakfast spread.

All in all, Punch and Judy proves that it doesn’t matter what you order: everything is made with quality and served with kindness. Highly recommend, even if you’re just in the mood for something...

The Punch & Judy in Covent Garden is one of those classic West End pubs that never gets old – and the best part? The balcony overlooking the piazza! It’s hands down one of my favourite places to sit back with a drink and enjoy the buzzing atmosphere of central London. From up there, you get a perfect view of the street performers below – jugglers, musicians, magicians… there's always something entertaining going on. It feels like you’re getting a show with your drink, all for the price of a pint. On a sunny afternoon, the whole square comes alive, and the balcony gives you the best seats in the house. The pub itself has great character and history, with friendly staff and solid pub fare. It's busy, as you'd expect for the area, but there's a great energy to it. Whether you're just stopping in mid-shopping or meeting up with friends, it’s a fantastic spot to take in the Covent Garden vibe while escaping the crowd at street level. Highly recommend grabbing a table on the balcony if you can – it’s what makes The Punch & Judy extra special!

Not really the best experience. Went upstairs to order drinks.. waited front row at the bar for drinks, and the lady did not see us for a while and was serving others around us.. no sense of who was there first. I ordered Aperol Spritz but not the greatest taste.. the mixer put in had a complete different taste. We did not try food there so can’t comment on that. However the atmosphere is amazing. They have TVs in there if you want to watch a game and there is balcony where you can watch the live performances on the street. You can take drinks out and there are high stool chairs.. but it can get really busy. There are toilets upstairs but was out of order but toilets are downstairs in the basement. There is no running water to wash hands. There are 4-6 flights of stairs depending on which floor you get in and there is no lift. Overall, the place is stunning though. An old pub style with a 18th century feel to it.

I went yesterday with a group of friends that came to visit me from Brazil... We were 7 people, and we had a great experience. The pub downstairs, where we sat, is very pretty and cosy. The bathrooms were clean, staff was friendly and welcoming. A special mention to the manager, that was extremely friendly and helpful. He explained the dishes to us, asked for any allergies, also explained about the different beer options, and came later to check if everything was alright with the food. We tried the chicken schnitzel, the beef sirloin steak, and fish and chips. Everything was delicious and the presentation of the dishes was great too. All my friends loved our time there, and I'll definitely be recommending it to other people, as well as coming again myself.
