So, here we are at the infamous Nando's so many have told me about and to try.
Quite frankly as far as peri peri goes i would not say this was the best I've ever had but definitely worth a try. I recently visited London for the first time on April 23rd 2018, and for me the first franchised restaurant that i tried was Whitechapel's very own HALAL Family orientated, Nando's. As you first walk in, you are definitely greeted with a pleasant, warm Portuguese decor and happy staff. What repetitively for me ruins the atmosphere is the rudeness of other customers waiting in line or trying to cut the cue so many have waited for but by no means is that the fault of Nando's, however Nando's staff must be firm on rules of nuisance customers. Also the inability of customers using sauce bottles on there food and not placing them back where they belong or smothering grease from food onto the unique Nando's sauce bottles. How the system works is you must read the menu and order at the till. I ordered a hot peri peri burger (although there were many other spice variations including extra hot) with peri peri wedges, whilst my friend ordered there chicken liver and Portuguese roll with fries. My food was delivered quite fast (in the space of 10mins) whilst my friends on the other hand was very delayed (20 mins). Upon attempting the burger, the buns were super soft (pun not intended) and chicken succulent and moist , however with waiting for my friends meal, the burger which was once warm was now lukewarm. For flavour, i can't really say that the taste was mouth-gasming but it was still enjoyable on the other hand the sweet potato wedges were chargrilled which added a nice smokey flavour and came with a yogurt mayo dip and what appeared to be bird seeds (if anyone knows what the seeds are please do say). My friends meal, as he describes is not one that many would order but he has consistently had the same meal and it has never failed to win him over. All in all, i'd like to say thanks to the staff for a great meal and to try work on small minuscule areas of recommendations that i have made.
Hope to...
Read moreI went to this Nando today with my husband and baby. Uoon arriving there was a group of 7 infront of us. We waited for someone to come and ask how manu of us there were for a table. We only needed a table for 2. Anyway normally in other nando the waiter would come and ask us and tell us that there is a waiting time. However today no one came to us. Instead the waiter came to seat the group of 7 (obviously because they were first) but the lady in the group said they didnt want that table as it was "next to the window and its too hot"!!! Like hello theres people waiting!!! So the waiter decided to go and see if he could find another table for them!! Again hello they dont want the table..give it to the next person!!! But he went and set up a table for them. Came back and said "i got you another table in the middle but let me clean it first" Great now we have to wait for him to clean the table. By this time we lost our patience as no one bothered to seat us because one woman didnt want to sit next to the window because she was too hot. What about the rest of us that were waiting. It would have been better if he told the group that he will get them another table but just wait 2 minutes to seat us and the people behind us. It was selfish of the lady to do that but still...the waiter could have avoided us walking out.
We walked out and went to nando bethnal green where we were attended to as soon as we entered. And we were seated...
Read moreMy experience at Nando's Whitechapel was unfortunately far from satisfactory. While the food itself was flavorful and lived up to Nando's reputation, the overall dining experience left much to be desired.
The restaurant's cleanliness was a significant issue, as the tables and floors appeared neglected and not well-maintained. It was disheartening to see such a lack of attention to cleanliness, which undoubtedly affected the overall ambiance of the place.
The condition of the restroom was even worse, as it was utterly filthy. Such poor hygiene standards are unacceptable for any establishment, let alone a well-known chain like Nando's.
To add to the disappointments, my order was forgotten, resulting in an extensive delay in receiving my food. The wait time was frustrating and left me feeling neglected as a customer.
Regrettably, my visit to Nando's Whitechapel was by far the worst experience I've had at any Nando's in London. The combination of cleanliness issues, neglected restroom, and the oversight in handling my order made for an incredibly disappointing dining experience. I hope that the management takes these issues seriously and makes significant improvements to restore the...
