I accidentally stumbled unto this restaurant and its the best food I've had in years (in the UK)
Where do I start. As soon as you enter you feel like you've left the UK and entered Italy. The atmosphere is fantastic, staff are friendly and I believe the owner who greeted us was very welcoming.
Now the food. Beautiful, authentic and delicious.
We had a starter, it was a hot starter (I'll add the pics later). It was made with spinach, garlic, mushrooms and cheese. I should have known that everything would only get better from here.
The mains, me and my daughter both opted for pasta dishes. Hers was a delicious tomato based spaghetti dish. It had such depth of flavour. Very authentic to what I'd expect had I taken a flight to Italy. I was also pleasantly surprised by how much seafood was included. She had lots of prawns, calamar and mussels and the serving size was adequate.
I had a creamy tagliatelle dish with chicken, parmesan and cream. Very delicious.
I also loved the decor and watching the other patrons food come out. Everything looked tasty and although I was nearly full, I could not resist trying the desserts. I was only in this area for one night so why not.
I had the caramel cheesecake (whatever they put in the caramel sauce, they need to tell me). This was my dish of the night.
My daughter had a chocolate cake and the serving size was huge and she enjoyed it. It was served with vanilla ice cream.
Overall 10/10 recommend. If you're ever in South Hampstead, please give this place a try. It is only about 3 minutes walk from the train station. I hope your business thrives and remember to expand...
Read moreWe were staying at a bed and breakfast in the area and went to dinner to this gem of a restaurant. As a chef of 27 plus years I have to say it doesn't get any better than this. Excellent service great drink list and a menu with something for everyone. We started with the bruschetta tomato simple and clean flavors and just perfect timing until our main courses showed up. I had the Veal with garlic potatoes and my wife had the mushroom and chicken with tagliatelle. Both dishes were just enough and perfectly prepared. I told our server to tell the owner to give the chef a raise immediately! For dessert mu partner had the tiramisu and although it wasn't on the menu they made me an afogatto icecream with espresso poured over it. My wife said it was the best tiramisu she had ever had and she spent time in Italy haha. The next evening we were just a bit hungry and went there again . Started with a mushroom arancini and then a smoked meat pizza with olives.... perfect once more. The owner Costa ? I hope that is correct chatted us up and was very friendly. I encourage anyone staying or living in the area to stop by have some food and relax. You owe it to yourself to enjoy life. Ciao Costa and bravo to all your...
Read moreWe went to Nona two years ago before the renovation and the long time it remained closed. I had the linguine with clams. The clams were so small that I wondered where they were coming from. My wife had highly recommended this place but my dinner was really not acceptable, to my taste. Now since the owner replied to me assuming I didn’t even show up to his restaurant to try the food and ambiance, I really hope that things have improved since it reopened. We are locals and would love to find a decent place in the neighbourhood to eat well, especially when it’s nice out and we can sit outside! Next time, I’ll remember to take pictures, I wouldn’t want to be accused of writing reviews of places I never went to! Whoever is questioning my integrity should do their research more thoroughly, this is not my first review, and I always try to base my reviews on facts: food, service, ambiance, price and...
