The "Sax in the City" bottomless brunch at NynLon in the Hyatt Regency Blackfriars is an exceptional experience and an absolute must-try. We started with a perfect Bloody Mary before diving into the buffet.
The buffet spread was high-quality and vast, including excellent cold cuts, terrines, prawn cocktail, and even slices of wood-fired pizza. The real highlight was the "Build Your Own Caesar" station—a brilliant, novel twist that let us customize it perfectly (hello, extra parmesan and crispy bacon!).
For the mains, we all opted for the 10oz NY Strip steak, and it was a showstopper. Served beautifully rare and truly melted in the mouth. The generous sides—mac and cheese, crispy fries, and maple-glazed carrots—were fantastic. Paired with our bottomless champagne and a delightful serving of fresh oysters, it felt truly indulgent.
The venue has a beautiful New York bistro theme and the service was attentive and non-fussy. What truly elevated the experience was the live jazz singer, Cerys. Her voice was incredible, genuinely reminiscent of a young Amy Winehouse, creating the perfect relaxing Sunday atmosphere.

Read moreI’m genuinely baffled at the number of 5-star ratings this place has. I came in at 20:30 on a Tuesday and ordered a starter, main and side. My water was filled when the server took my order, but then I waited 55 minutes before any food appeared — with no updates, no check-ins, and no refill on my drink.
When the food finally arrived, it was only the starter and side. The mac and cheese was basically plain boiled pasta with breadcrumbs and a bit of cheese — completely bland. The chicken was wet with a slimy texture. I waited another 10 minutes to see if the main would come, but nothing. Nobody checked how the food was or whether I needed anything else.
When I asked for the bill, they tried charging me for all three items plus a service charge, and acted surprised when I asked for the missing dish and service fee to be removed — even though only two items had been served.
Honestly, this was the worst restaurant service I’ve ever had, and the food wasn’t far behind....

I am staying with the hotel and tried to call in-room dining. No one picked up. I was starving so I decided to go down to the restaurant. Figured it'd be the fastest way to get some food.
I ordered a calamari and a steak. After a while they came back saying no calamari. No problem I said.
30 minutes passed, the steak has not arrived. I asked to check up on the order. I was told another 5 minutes.
50 minutes passed since I first ordered, the steak still has not arrived. 2 minutes more they said.
More than an hour later, the steak finally arrived.
I finished it in 5 minutes because I was that hungry.
How was your steak, they asked as I paid the bill. Not worth waiting...
