Oddono's Hampstead — Restaurant in London

I've been praising this place as the best ice cream in London for seven years and used to return any chance I got-- until I discovered better ice cream in Waitrose, but that was a while ago. I meant to return today, as I would have anyway, but I saw that Venchi across the road has less indigestible ingredients (gum thickeners, they don't do anyone any favours-- in consuming them, anyhow). This coupled with some of a plastic spoon coming off in my mouth has settled the matter of ever returning entirely. Having said that, I'd recommend the cookies and cream, pistachio and dulce de leche if they have it-- if you must, but also recommend avoiding the plastic spoons. I had two medium portions on cups, each of them had two different flavors. One was chocolate and strawberry sorbet, while another was milk chocolate hazelnut and salted caramel. They were all amazing. Strawberry sorbet was fresh and delightful. If you are not a big fan of sweetness, you can have chocolate because it was just fine (not too sweet). If you want to experience the better sweetness, pick milk chocolate hazelnut as I did. This flavor was even better with salted caramel as it gave a savory flavor and such a good gelato combination.

Next time, I will order other flavors on cones and am looking...

I had the pleasure of visiting this Oddono’s store for the first time yesterday afternoon, and I absolutely want to praise the talent and dedication of one of its staff members, a young boy who has a truly engaging personality. I was inclined to choose a simple small cone with fruit sorbet, but he recommended a truly unique combination in a bigger cone with banana and cinnamon. His commitment to making my experience unforgettable is truly admirable. I’m convinced that his talent and dedication will take him far; customer service is in his DNA.
