We recently visited PSV Cuisine, which is tucked away upstairs above a pub – definitely one of those hidden gems you might miss if you didn’t know it was there. The atmosphere was relaxed and unpretentious, perfect for a casual meal.
The food was a really nice mix of Thai, Vietnamese, and Laotian dishes, and everything we tried was packed with authentic flavours. You could really taste the freshness of the ingredients, and the dishes had that proper homemade feel. Some plates were a little on the oily side, but it actually added to the richness and didn’t take away from how delicious everything was. It all tasted really genuine, like the kind of food you'd get if you were travelling through Southeast Asia.
Portion sizes were generous, and the prices felt fair for the quality and amount of food you get. It’s also got a slightly tucked-away vibe being above the pub, which makes it feel a bit special without being too formal or fancy.
Overall, if you're looking for hearty, authentic Thai, Vietnamese, and Laos cuisine in a chill and friendly setting, PSV Cuisine is definitely worth a visit. I’ll definitely be back to try more...
Read moreLaos food, just like other Southeast Asian cooking, is something you wouldn't want to miss. PSV cuisine is a huge blessing really.
I've tried their duck salad (laab ped), the stew (ort), and the appetiser sampler (w/ satay, fish cake, prawn crackers, etc), and all of it were amazing. The duck salad is super tasty, with garlic and red onion plus fresh hint of mint and lemon. The stew is great, it is something new and unique to me, I don't think it taste similarly to any other SEA's region food.
I somehow missed their beef tartare in the menu, this was supposed to be really good and I'll definitely try it next time!
The place is really clean and tidy. It is somehow hidden on the upper floor of an Irish bar. They got boards and stuffs outside so you won't miss it. Staffs are super friendly and helpful if you don't really familiar with the food.
Lastly, if you ask for extra spicy they won't let you down as they add like 4-5 whole birdeye chilli inside for me to...

psv serves a lot of thai classics alongside lao food so we tried both and whilst it was all yummy, the highlight for me was the pahn pa! the fish itself was cooked to perfection as it was flakey and not dry at all - i also really liked how the seasoning was kept simple to maintain the fresh flavour of the fish and so you could elevate it with the herbs and pineapple sauce provided. tom khar is like tom yum but with coconut milk so it is less spicy but so warming on a cold day. the tom khem was a standard asian braised pork belly dish so nothing too wow but again, a really warming dish and paired perfectly with rice, although we probably could’ve went without this as we were already full. i will 100% be back tho for the spicy dishes and the...
