A friend and I stumbled upon Tunisian Street Kitchen on a dark, rainy evening, seeking refuge from the weather outside. Little did we know, we were about to embark on a culinary journey that would not only warm our stomachs but also our hearts.
As we walked in, the inviting aroma of spices and the vibrant music immediately captivated our senses. Despite the gloomy weather outside, stepping into Tunisian Street Kitchen felt like stepping into a cozy oasis of warmth and springtime. The atmosphere was so inviting that, for a moment, we forgot about the raindrops tapping on the windows.
We dove into the menu, and what ensued was a delightful race against time. The food arrived promptly, each dish a testament to the chef's skill and commitment to authenticity. The speed at which we devoured our meals spoke volumes about the irresistible flavours and the comfort they provided.
What truly made the evening exceptional, though, was the ambiance inside. While it was dark and raining outside, inside, it felt like a perpetual spring. The interior design, coupled with the lively music, created an environment that transported us to a sunlit courtyard despite the downpour. It was the perfect setting for a leisurely dinner that turned into an unforgettable experience.
As we indulged in the sumptuous dishes, we found ourselves engrossed in a lovely conversation. The raindrops on the windows served as the background music to our laughter and the clinking of cutlery. The staff, attentive to our needs, added to the overall charm of the evening.
Tunisian Street Kitchen not only provided a haven from the rain but also a haven from the ordinary. It turned a simple dinner into a cherished memory—a memory of warmth, laughter, and the joy of discovering a hidden gem. If you're in search of a place where time slows down, and every moment is savoured, Tunisian Street Kitchen is the place to be. It's more than a restaurant; it's a sanctuary of flavours, warmth, and delightful surprises.

We stumbled upon a fantastic Tunisian cafe/restaurant behind Waterloo station. They said they could get us in and out within 45 minutes so we could get to the event we had tickets for. Their hospitality and kindness was second to none.
The all day breakfast was such a treat! I love the pretty Hamsa handmade plate for protection and for picky people who don't like their food to touch! It was half savory and half sweet and it was served with a bowl of chickpea foul. I forgot to take photo of the flatbread because I was desperate to dig into the food.
On the savoury side olives, salad, finely chopped carrot was fresh and delicious. But the savoury foul was next level. Anyone who knows me knows I don't generally eat anything that's very beany but this was so smooth and was absolutely packed with so much flavour but without any chilli which makes me so unbelievably happy that they care enough about taste not to just mask it with chilli!! The photo makes it look a bit red because I had to use flash but it's actually more brown. You have to try this dish, I'll be back for it!
The sweet side there was a crumbled kind of halva, some jam and some dates to finish with. The veggie version had honey.
Seriously, you must try this place! Just fyi it says veggie vegan outside but that refers to the juice bar part, the Tunisian street cafe is vegan friendly but not...
Read moreCame here with a friend for a quick meal before an NT show. We hadn't booked but didn't need to because at 6pm on a Monday it was quiet. The interior vibe was very much cafe / diner which felt homely and rustic with Tunisian / Mediterranean products and art everywhere.
We ordered some fresh juices for our drinks, mine had ginger in which was refreshing and warming. Both of us opted for the Tunisian breakfast which was a single dish but with lots of small components, which was great because we would get to try a lot of things at once.
When it arrived it was served on wonderful crockery and looked incredible. The flavours and taste were delicious and filled us up perfectly. My only gripe was that the bread was completely naff, it was a little bit cold, chewy and thin. I think it would be far better to have a thicker fluffer and warmer bread given the saucy nature of some of the dishes presented. However, that being said, I still think this place deserves top marks because the rest of the food more than made up for it. They also have a good selection of vegetarian options. The breakfast we ordered has both a meat and...
