Papa Johns Pizza — Restaurant in London

Had a terrible experience today.

I waited for an hour for my order before calling the store. Upon my call, it was explained that due to using 3rd party delivery drivers, that I would have to wait at least 30 more minutes for my order. I said that this wasn't acceptable and I would like to make a complaint or speak to a manager on shift. The person on the other end of the telephone was initally relatively helpful and offered a free drink but I said I just wanted my food and to make a complaint so I could have some form of refund in the future. I was put through to a senior on shift and he was immediately much more rude and after a frustrating 10 minute call he hung up on me. The initial staff member then called me back and said my order had been cancelled despite me never asking for that. All I wanted was to receive my food ASAP and for some form of acknowledgement by way of compensation for the poor service.

Seeing some other reviews here, we're clearly not the only ones. Easy to avoid when there are so many other pizza...

We help at a local homeless shelter and the Missionary Sisters wanted to treat the needy residents to Pizza. Spoke to Mostafin at Papa Johns Elephant and Castle a few days prior who advised me how to go about placing the order and even gave me an extra discount because it was for the homeless. On the day, one of our volunteers phoned the payment, we requested the types of pizzas and more importantly needed to assure that the pizzas arrived exactly on time when dinner was being served at the shelter. As none of our volunteers were on site, it was worrying that the order may be wrong or that it may be delayed etc etc Mostafin made the whole process seamless - the delivery was on time (in fact five minutes early) and even more amazing, the driver even phoned me to confirm he was delivering to the correct people in the shelter - absolutely top notch service. The icing on the cake was that the Sisters were very happy that their patrons enjoyed a special Christmas treat - the pizzas...

I visited this Papa John’s location for a late lunch on June 9th around 3 PM, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. While I generally enjoy the food here, the service this time was unexpectedly poor. The girl who was managing my order was quite rude from the start abrupt in her responses, dismissive of questions, and seemed annoyed throughout the interaction.

What should have been a simple and routine order felt uncomfortable and unwelcoming. She seemed more interested in rushing me than offering any kind of decent customer service. It wasn't just unprofessional but disrespectful. The attitude was exaggerated and unnecessary, especially when I was polite and clear about my order.

I hope the management looks into improving staff training and customer service standards. The way I was treated has definitely made me think twice about returning to...
