This is a Afro-fusion restaurant, with popular Nigerian and West African dishes. The restaurant has a great ambience and is an intimate setting (so do book ahead) with inspired pictures/images on the walls which can serve as a great background for photos. The customer service was good too Now onto the food! I had the asun and garlic butter sautĆ©ed prawns for starters. The asun was spicy, very tender and perfectly cut into small bite size chunks. The prawns were cooked well and a great size. But I do with the flavours were more marinated into the prawns I think a lot of the flavours didn’t pass the shell into the prawns. Unfortunately the tozo suya was not available on this occasion, which would have been my preferred choice. For my main I had the grilled lamb chops, with gravy, coleslaw and jollof rice. Again this was a good size. The potion sizes in general at Papis grill are great value for money. Lamb was tender and full of flavour, the jollof was made with basmati rice which I prefer and and smokey like party jollof. For drinks I had the Chapman! It was a good size and very nice. Can’t go wrong with that I definitely recommend and will be back soon to try other dishes!

Food: we ordered Asun, Prawns and Suya for starters; these alone could double as mains. The Asun was spicy juicy and fresh. Nice portion for a starter. Prawns big, juicy and nicely seasoned. Suya was great, spicy and again good portion. We also ordered the surf and turf! Let's just say, the salad alone was top notch so you can imagine the rest of the meal. The steak was a good size and looks as good as it tastes. Now... The lobster tail and the butter garlic dip! šŸ™ŒšŸ™Œ. I think I ate too fast ā˜ŗļø. Definitely worth giving it a go. Service: Femi, and the chef are very caring, mindful and all round great service. They were attentive to us and what we needed. The atmosphere was relaxed, chilled and music playing at very good volume. Deco was just right, not over whelming but we'll thought through. Overall great experience, this was my second time and certainly not my last. Well done guys!

The place lighting was terrible as I had to use the phone light to see the menu and my food and waiting for the waiter come to us to order had to be rushed because there wasn't enough staff to how go to each table. So we had to be rushed to order what we wanted and there mess up my sister food is order a lobster but she got only had one large spoon of meat that it then we complained to the owner of restaurant he said oh, I'm very sorry about that. We could get you something else and we fall. That's pretty rude as you're making us pay £40 worth of lobster and my sister only got once tablespoon of lobster meat. That was it. Everything else was bone What day replaced us with was a chicken breast with a tiny bowl of rice and never coming back every again

Absolutely appalling service and possibly my worst dining experience to date. Having waited nearly 1 hour 45 minutes for our food, with no indication of it coming we left. Our booking was for 7pm, we got there at 7.15pm. Within 5 minutes the head waitress came to take our main orders. We had no time to look at the menu, it’s also customary to take drink orders first. We ordered our drinks and were then told well we only have 2 hours for our table. For a table of 4, drinks should not take 15 -20 minutes. We then waited another 15 minutes for someone to take our main orders - because I asked for service. Following that, only our starter came out. 45 minute wait for small Asun. After an hour 20 minutes we asked the head waitress how long the food would take, and was told another 15 min. We were also blamed for not ordering our mains straight away. Firstly this is rude. Secondly, considering how long the food was taking this would not have made a difference. In addition, they now did not seem bothered that we would surpass 2 hours at the table. So why pressure us when we first sat down?

It was clear after just a few minutes our food was not going to come. There was another table of 3 who came in after us, constantly being served food. It’s likely they knew the owner as it was clearly favourable treatment and I am inclined to believe a lot of our food went straight to them instead. We soon asked for the bill just for our drinks as so to leave and even this took too long. The head waitress then agreed for us to pay nothing but did not apologise. A complete waste of time, having come from West London and ruined my friend’s graduation celebration. I shall never...

I do not like making reviews, but this one is needed. Now TikTok praises this restaurant, i wont lie when the food eventually came it was 6/10 which was decent. But the service was terrible man. Like i am so shocked and have never received a service this poor before (-20/10). We waited 1hr 30mins for our food. I waited 45mins for my drink which was outrageous. And yes there is preferential treatment to the older men in the restaurant, probably friends with the owner. But what really shocked me was the following: 25mins after our food arrived, we were asked despite having our food arriving late, if we could vacate the table in 20 mins which we politely declined and said was not enough time. Then 5mins later, the bartender came to take our plates of food away (without asking which was sooo rude!) which we asked her not to. She said she will put this in a take away container in the kitchen which was soo odd as i am used to them bringing containers to the table at other places. 20mins later we wondered where our food was, and she said someone else is packing our food. IN THIS PANDEMIC our full plates of food is being passed through too many hands... despicable. When our food finally was packed, half of our plates of food was gone! No lies are being told, i immediately felt violated.

I had to complain and they removed service charge, and gave us just £7 off our order due to their mess up. But does not clear up the violation me and my friends felt. I will never be going to this...

First time I went there with a friend, we didn't book, it seems quick and good service. Food was lovely. Second time I went with my sister, it's my fault I didn't book thinking it will be like the first time. On getting there, we could see it pack full. Ask the staff for table and was told it's booked. We then said we don't mind waiting but the staff said we can't wait in there. Ok! Then we said can we get a drink while we waiting but we will stand and the staff look as if he didn't want to let us stay and refuse us buying a drink. So we went out and looking for else to go. Then I came back inside to ask if they do delivery and he replied yes. I proceed to order our food and don't mind waiting an hour to get the food. Time to pay, the staff refuse us to pay that when it's closer time to collect the food, we will pay and that we should keep coming back to check. At this point am pisssed because for him not allowing me to pay means no guarantee that the food will be ready by that 1 hour waiting time. We went for a 10mins walk and came back still the same answer so I then cancelled my order they didn't want me to pay for. I proceed to go another grill place at Woolwich.

My point here is, Poor customer service and approach to people are rude, bad communication, disrespect and lack of interest. They need to do better, more staff with training and more options. The guy at the bar feels...
