Just don’t bother.
The only place in 14 years in London that I’ve had to ask for the service charge to be removed. I’ve been to Parissi 10+ times and the pastries are delicious, I’ve had many 10/10 treats at Parissi and the sun trap terrace is a sweet spot. Unfortunately the service, which has always poor, has descended into completely non existent; there is literally no service at all.
Unfortunately it was the last straw for me, which I’m sad about because I love that savoury swirl and the portokaloptia it’s divine but it’s just not worth putting yourself through it anymore, there’s no way I could suggest Parissi to a friend anymore, when there are so many places who actually value their customers.
They serving staff are staggeringly incompetent in there it’s hard to work out what on earth is going on, it’s a small place and it’s not a remotely difficult shift to run. We were sitting thinking we were in a reality TV show or something because it’s so comically poor.
It’s uncomfortable to be a customer in there because you are have to constantly get up and do everything and search for staff. When you’re not searching for the staff or cutlery or your missing items yourself, you are sat there watching everybody else trying to desperately get some service equally bewildered by what the hell is happening.
If you want to try their pastries go take-away only for the sake of your sanity. To be honest, unless you stand in front of them at the counter you’ll just be ignored anyway, so take away is your only chance to...
Read moreI came here today with my family, and although I had already been warned that the food was amazing (they had gone before), I was completely blown away. I ordered the Turkish eggs, and my oh my were they delicious. Every ingredient in the dish was added to the exact correct portion (there wasn't too much of anything), and supplied the perfect combination of flavour. Likewise, my mum ordered the creamy baked eggs and it was no different, absolutely amazing, although I would still probably opt for the Turkish eggs if I was to return. As a drink I had a grapefruit and orange juice, which was super refreshing. Finally - for dessert - I had a cinnamon swirl and a latte, and both were as top quality as can be (therefore super yummy)😋. As for the service, I have no complaints, especially considering how full they were. Everything came at a very reasonable pace; and any issues were dealt with in a considerate way. Last but most definitely not least, the atmosphere was what I can only describe as welcoming. A perfect noise level - not too loud but not too quiet - matched with an exquisite array of songs, for example: Maneater - Daryl Hall & John Oates; and Million Dollar Bill - Whitney Houston. I will definitely...
Read moreFood and coffee are great but the staff ignore you and try to avoid interaction.
I wanted to work for a bit while having my coffee. I asked the barista if I can sit at one of the many empty tables. She told me that she doesn't know and I will have to ask the waitress. So I had to wait a few minutes for the waitress to appear and after I asled she just nodded. Then after I sat down and started working she came rushing and told me I am not allowed to work on a laptop cause it's Saturday afternoon. She also pointed out that I should've read the little paper sign next to the bar which stated this policy. Great service 🙌
I understand you try to maintain a certain atmosphere but when the coffee shop is almost empty I don't think such policies do any good. You're just pushing customers away. If you insist imposing them no matter what at least clearly...
