We had our reservation at 9. We only got our table at 9:30. We asked for our table multiple times, we didn’t get any apology, moreover the girl at the reception looked so bored and uninterested as if we were bothering her. 5 of us waited for a table for 30 minutes in a tiny area between the reception and the toilet. When my friend and I went to the toilet, the cleaning lady was rude to her. She literally told her ‘No you can’t go in’, she made her skip her turn and let a lady that was behind her in the queue in front of her. My friend tried saying she was next in the queue, but she just repeated that my friend can’t go in. We didn’t even understand why she decided to boss my friend around. This was just confusing and weird. At exactly 23:30 after we had our deserts a man that was not our waiter came up to the table and said that the next table is here and he is ready to bring us the bill. I said that it is fine as we were about to ask for the bill anyway. He showed up with a bill in a second and said that we will need to pay for the bill immediately. Only my friend and I were there at the moment as 3 our friends were smoking outside. I paid for the bill and said that we were going to wait for our friends. He said that we need to leave right now as the next table is waiting. I told him that we have all our friends’ bags and phones here and that we were waiting for our table for half an hour so I don’t get why we need to leave right now. He told us we need to take all our stuff and leave. His tone was extremely rude, I’ve never ever encountered anything like this before. He looked straight at me and said “You need to leave right NOW” with strong emphasis on the word “now”. Then he smirked with a super fake smile, sort of being sarcastically polite. So not only he was rude, he was mocking us. My friend and I were completely shocked and very upset. We took all our friends’ stuff and left. I’ve never been talked to like this before. It was my birthday and I paid £900 bill. I’m totally appalled by your client service and by the manners of your staff. I will not be back at park chinois, as this was literally the worst customer service I experienced in...

Recently visited for lunch with my partner, and we were very disappointed. We saw a lot of negative reviews before booking, but we still decided to give it a go. In hindsight, I wish we listened to the reviews and avoided.

We checked the menu before going, and we were looking forward to trying the har gau sea bass, especially as my partner is pescatarian. When we arrived, we were told these two items were not available, which was very disappointing.

I ordered the chilli squid, duck spring rolls, and kung pao chicken. My partner ordered the chilli squid, vegetable dumplings, and mock chicken. The food was honestly tasteless. I was so disappointed with the kung pao chicken, it was easily the worst kung pao chicken I’ve had in my life, so tasteless. We didn’t enjoy any of the food, and we honestly left feeling like we had wasted our money.

I’ve never left a negative google review before (you can see if you check my profile). I’ve had poor experiences before, but they haven’t warranted taking the time to leave a review, and I generally do not like to leave negative reviews/complain. However, the food we had was appalling and this was easily the worst ‘fine dining’ experience I’ve ever had (top 3 worst meals I’ve had, in general). Please listen to the bad reviews, unlike us, and avoid. Save your money, go somewhere else, where you’ll enjoy good food.

Service was good, staff were friendly, although we waited at the front desk for about 3-4 minutes before anyone actually came to greet us. Doorman/security guard went into the main restaurant to get someone to greet us, on two occasions, but still took long. Servers were friendly and attentive.

The decor of the restaurant was lovely, and I can imagine the atmosphere is a lot livelier during dinner.

However, food is the biggest factor that determines how good a dining experience is, and, unfortunately, every single dish we had was so bad and tasteless. The food was just so tasteless, I honestly don’t understand how these dishes could be so tasteless - tasted of nothing, no flavour whatsoever. We were really looking forward to dining here, but left extremely disappointed...

In the ongoing battle for the unofficial title of London’s most decadent restaurant, Park Chinois is up there. It opened in 2015 on Berkeley Street, surrounded by swanky neighbours (Nobu, Hakkasan Mayfair, Benares, Sexy Fish), and became an instant hit with Mayfair’s glittery jet set. The bar is the first port of call, lined with red-velvet stools and manned by handsome mixologists in tuxedos. In the dimly lit dining room, Salon de Chine, the walls are covered in thick swathes of red and gold silk and, in the evening, a jazz band sets up right in the middle of the tables. The tinkling piano and glamorous singer make the whole experience feel like you’re on an impossibly smart Twenties train journey where a murder could, at any point, take place. We suspect, though, the music also helps draw in Park Chinois’s long list of famous regulars – it’s hard to eavesdrop through supper over the sound of a jazz quartet. Downstairs, the members’ club atmosphere is taken a step further in Club Chinois, where each evening live dancers and gymnasts perform every few minutes.

FOOD

Dim Sum is the obvious place to start on the enormous, Chinese-inspired menu – the dim-sum platter has impeccably made, paper-thin dumplings filled with scallop, truffle or prawn. Beef ribs have been tea-smoked to give an earthy flavour and a mountain of salt and pepper squid is super crisp. The mains read like a shopping list of expensive ingredients: Wagyu rib-eye is stir-fried with Wagyu salami, roast duck is topped with Champagne and orange sauce and King Crab comes with 10-year-old wine. But we also like the simple-by-comparison sweet-and-sour Ibérico pork, which is sticky and has layers of contrasting flavours. A side of duck-fried rice is a must-order, while the Park carbonara is an Asian take on the Italian classic, made with udon noodles and added sea urchin. Pudding has to be the rich 85 per-cent chocolate fondant, served with glossy Rémy Martin sauce and topped with...

Went for an impromptu date night with the Mrs today. I can safely say that this place is not worth the time or money. The fact that I was able to get a 7pm and 8pm booking on a Saturday night on the day should have probably been alarm bells but we persevered. We ordered the wasabi king prawn and Szechuan crispy chicken. Wasabi prawns were ok, lacked any real wasabi however the Szechuan crispy chicken was just plain awful. It was so salty that you couldn’t taste any flavour. The crispy chicken tasted like KFC’s popcorn chicken (probably doing a disservice to KFC) and so dry too; a drizzle of sauce over the chicken would have helped. To add salt to wound (no pun intended) when the waiter asked how was your meal, we told him that the crispy chicken was inedible, his reply was ‘that’s great’ basically went into robot mode assuming we enjoyed our meal; I corrected him and made sure he heard me the second time to which he said he’ll let the chef know. After hearing no feedback, we continued with our main course. I ordered the grilled A5 Japanese wagyu rib eye and Mrs ordered the black cod. Again the Wagyu was terrible, did not taste right at all. The black cod was ok, soft and flaky as it should be. The portions were supposed to be for sharing but I can assure you they were not. After the main, we were still hungry so ordered some desserts. Waited 25 minutes for desserts and when probing the waiter, he said it will be a little bit longer. In the end decided to cancel dessert and call it a night. We requested the service charge to be removed as we got sub par service; the manager did try and apologise and offered some complementary deserts, to which we declined and left. Entertainment of the live singer and band was good hence atmosphere gets 4 stars. Overall a real let down. The menu has some real scope to be amazing however the delivery and cooking is a big let down. I wouldn’t visit here again. Our total bill for 2 (no Alcohol) was £315+/-…

I recently visited Park Chinois in London with my best friend for what we hoped would be an evening of fine dining and memorable entertainment. While the ambiance and live band, especially the talented piano player, set a delightful tone for the evening, the overall experience was profoundly disappointing due to the food quality and subsequent health issues we encountered. To start, we were greeted warmly and seated near the band, which provided a fantastic atmosphere. However, the positives ended there. After dining, both my friend and I experienced severe food poisoning symptoms, including vomiting and upset stomachs. These health issues not only raised serious concerns about food safety but also disrupted our plans for a Christmas party the following day. Additionally, the service, though polite, was poorly managed. We waited 50 minutes for our mains, despite specifically requesting that all dishes be served together as we were sharing. Instead, the dishes arrived at staggered intervals, disrupting the flow of our meal. As for the food itself, it was underwhelming at best. The rice with chicken and prawns tasted off and was served cold, as was the satay chicken. The braised supreme seafood, while at least served hot, was poorly portioned and overpriced, consisting mostly of vegetables with only minimal seafood—hardly what one would expect from a venue of this caliber. Following this, I reached out to the restaurant via email to express my concerns but received no meaningful acknowledgment or apology. For a restaurant with such a prestigious reputation, this lack of accountability is deeply disappointing. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Park Chinois and it is better to go somewhere, where you can have a decent meal with fresh food along with live entertainment! Management responded to my review asking me to email them, and no response again, it was almost a week, this tells me all about the customer care.
