Extremely rude door man. As stated on the website walk ins are accepted past 4pm on a first come first served basis, however when I got to the door the man at the front turned me away not because the place was at capacity (which would be understandable) but because he simply did not want me there.
When I referenced the website stating that walk ins are fine past 4pm at a first come first serve basis he told me this was not true ( in this case the website should be updated if walk ins are not accepted here).
When I asked why I would not be allowed in he told me this is not that kind of establishment (no idea what that means) and said there are police around so why would you think we would let YOU in? He pointed to the police vans and said the police are here! I was completely taken a back. I am not a criminal nor do deserve to be treated like one. Two other men said she can sit at our table (which I did not ask them to do, I didn’t know them) he laughed and said you can’t do that, where do you think you are?!
I would of been understanding if he said it’s because the bar was at capacity and hence can not accept any walk ins. And if what he said is true that they only do reservations and walk ins are forbidden then the website should be updated to correct this mis-information.
Never in my life have I been threatened with police before for just wanting to have a night out at a bar. He could of politely turned me down. I was supposed to be meeting a group of girl friends but I switched to a friendlier bar after...
Read moreHello, my review is purely on the not attending venue even though I paid the £50 per head, handing £500.. To cut a long story short I was meant to have attended with my partner a a few others and was turned away. I contacted the venue on the night to state I was going to be late and nobody answered. I called numerous times and at that point I had no alternate arrangements but to go to the hotel I was staying at to finish my night off. To note only reason why we were out was due to it being my partners birthday and we stayed in the dilly hotel that night in question, dining at Benares beforehand. That was a very nice place to dine to mention on the other hand. I feel the Mayfair Bar are fine to take your money, but doing the right thing is not Something they are not willing to compromise, seeing in this instance it was their fault for not allowing entrance.
I have emailed and contacted numerous times and been told that I have lost my deposit due to no show!!
I know the hospitality industry is suffering, but cheating people is not how to deal with this mater!!
Please do the right thing please Mayfair bar management..
@30/12/2021 - they did the right thing and paid back the deposit. As stated my review was on the basis of not entering the venue, as per reviewing a few of the comments i believe the vibe in the place is good and...
Read moreWe had a lovely evening at the Mayfair Bar and I want to especially thank the host, Sasha, who was absolutely fantastic — warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout. He really elevated the experience and made us feel genuinely taken care of.
However, I do feel the need to raise a concern with management. Before I arrived, my husband mentioned that he was approached several times by women who seemed to be working as ladie of the night. Her behavior was uncomfortable and not in line with the classy environment you'd expect from a venue like this. When I joined him, their presence was still quite noticeable and disruptive to the atmosphere. Sasha helped us to change the the table.
Also, I was a bit disappointed with the waiter who served us — he seemed disengaged and uninterested, which contrasted sharply with the excellent service we received from Sasha.
Overall, it’s a stylish bar with great potential and some standout staff, but I hope management takes a closer look at the guest environment and staff consistency to ensure it stays a high-quality experience...
