If you’re strolling along the South Bank and craving something cozy and delicious, Paul CafĂ© Bankside is a lovely spot to take a break. This charming French bakery-cafĂ© offers a great selection of pastries, sandwiches, and warm drinks—perfect whether you’re after a quick bite or a relaxed coffee break. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming, with both indoor seating and some outdoor tables where you can enjoy views of the river (especially nice on a sunny day!). The croissants and pain au chocolat are fresh and buttery, and their coffee pairs perfectly with a sweet treat. đŸ„â˜• It’s also a convenient place to stop if you’re visiting nearby spots like Tate Modern or Shakespeare’s Globe. Staff are usually friendly, and the service is quick, even when it’s a bit busy. All in all, a great little cafĂ© for a peaceful pause in the...

I've been to this shop today and had one of the rudest services ever. The staff - Dominika, in my receipt - charged me eat-in prices but gave me take-away treatment. Paper cup, no plates, no tray and no napkins. After I've asked for a proper mug, she insolently replied I had asked to take it outside. Outside as in Paul's terrace which means eating in. She was clever enough to charge me eat-in prices though. She's made a new latte very reluctantly and with no manners at all, and still not putting the cakes on a plate, giving me a tray or napkins, was unable to say a single apology for her mistake. What sort of management is this that hires these cheeky/incompetent people or don't teach them properly the...

We went there on a Sunday morning. Purchased a coffee and some pastries. The member of staff (Jam was his name) charged us dine in prices. All fine if the pastries weren't given to us in paper bags. I complained and he replied in a rude way he couldn't give us plates because of Covid-19 rules. This is May 2021 and all the restaurants are now open. Then he said he would have to touch the plate. I pointed that he was using gloves and the plates are washed in hot water. In reply he implied I was refusing to acknowledge Covid was real... To wrap up, the food and drinks were good as always but the member of staff spoiled it...

It says ‘hot chocolate’ on the menu and here, for once, you actually get one! And it is delicious! Coffeewise, they serve huge sizes for very decent prices. Pastries and baguettes looked good as well. Service was quick, staff managed to be friendly even though it was extremely busy. Nice seating available on two floors, you pay 30 pence for eating in. The toilet was clean and quite spacious. Perfect location if you need a break from adjacent ‘Tate Modern’. Only thing I have to complain about were many trays and dirty dishes which were left on the tables for quite a long time. Too bad I had to leave London on the next day!

Average coffee with less than average counter staff, and the horrible presentation on coffee. And the last but not the least, they prepare a basket tray of stained tea spoon, seeing my hesitation on the picking which spoon to use, the staff asked with a I-could-not-care-more face, “How about a wooden spoon for you?” 15:48, 30 May 2022.
