Poor understanding and care of allergies - do better Pizza Express!
My family and I were visiting friends having travelled from South Wales. We picked PE having visited other branches before and knowing they handle allergens well, however on this occasion I was left very frustrated and concerned at our experience.
My 5 year old daughter is a diagnosed coeliac, meaning she can not have wheat, rye or barley and needs gluten free alternatives which PE does, and should indeed cater for. The slightest cross contamination makes her very ill, meaning food traces as small as crumbs with gluten can impact her body, making her very poorly.
But here we are sat in a hotel room with her being sick despite the waitress earlier this afternoon telling me 'not to worry because they know what they are doing'. I found this very condescending and clearly she did not have a clue how to handle allergens having questioned whether corn is gf and bringing out vanilla gelato (which is gf) with a cone in the top (which isnt). I'm so angry at our experience.
My daughter is now unwell due to your negligence PE and I will be contacting your head office.
Understand this - intolerance isn't life threatening, allergies are and are completely different. So when your waitress tells me not to worry because 'her brother in law can't have gluten' get your knowledge and the difference between allergies and intolerance correct before making sweeping statements with little...
Read moreEnough is enough, just pick up a Reine pizza that did not even had a slice of ham, not a complete mushroom that would have been sliced and not cheese to cover the lack of condiments. Sincerely at £14 you are taking the piss out of you client. Trying to make business working during this hard time but you are not worth saving. Update 2024.03.09 i gave another go just to see if there was improvement and ordered 2 pizzas on delivery. What a disappointment again. It was advised 25 min at the time of order then 35 minute at the time of confirmation and it took 1h15 to deliver 2 pizzas, one was placed in a bag on a side, therefore it collapsed on itself. both were cold and nut cut. As they were not warm at all, i had to put them in the microwave which literally reduce them to some paste as there was no crispiness remaining. they are the 2nd worst pizza I had in my life. Thanks for the experience. what a...
Read moreSaturday night experience, 29.08: Staff not wearing masks or shields (apart from one female waiter in a mask); the guy who was serving us (middle aged, greeted us at the door and looked like he was a manager on the shift) was very careless with cutlery (touched with his hands) and then, when he was serving us bottled drinks I saw him open the bottles and then grab them with his hand at the top (from where you pour a drink). I had to wipe everything with the antibacterial wipes I had in my handbag. Pizza base on one of the pizzas was soggy and underbaked. The waiter I already mentioned was not hospitable, looked grumpy and almost annoyed. the restaurant had customers, but was not 100% full, i.e. the team was not overstretched so I thought they could make an effort. My main concern is the hygiene - the restaurant needs to take measures and...
