PizzaExpress — Restaurant in London

Got a takeaway from this place through Deliveroo... it was rank. 30 quid for 2 small pizzas, they were literally the worst pizzas we have ever had. The topping looked like it was thrown on top in anger, it was all congregated on one side of the base, it was sludgy and cold, the base was dry and brittle like it was old... we tried eating it and immediately seriously regretted our decision, it was extremely salty. Its a disgrace that they delivered that to us in the first place. I have been privileged enough to have eaten Pizza on every continent on the Earth and this is LITERALLY THE WORST EVER. Do yourselves a favor and steer clear of this place... the quality is seriously poor and you will immediately be looking for somewhere else to source a replacement dinner the moment you receive your pizzas, albeit 30 quid out of pocket, like we are now. We also called and complained and they were unhelpful and acted like they could care less. Best of luck to you, but we will not...

We waited over 40 minutes for our food to arrive, which was ludicrous. And the starters and pizzas were brought at the same time.

Ensuring starters are served in advance of main courses is a basic skill. When the poor service was flagged with the manager he blamed the earlier busy period, yet the place was half full.

The bill had an extra serving of dough balls listed that had to be removed.

Not surprisingly the most efficient thing about the visit was the ease by which you can pay the bill, being able to split it and pay separately via the app.

Having completed the email survey with a detailed report of the visit, I wasn’t even contacted by Pizza Express, which was a surprise as you’d think they would take an interest in situations where service falls far short of what you’d expect.

This branch does great food and has good service for dining in, but I've recently tried to order one of their TooGoodToGo bags, and the staff there said they didn't know how the app works so the other collectors and I couldn't get our food.

In the end, I got my refund from the app, but I see that the bags are still displayed on the app.

I went to this branch on Tuesday 1st November 2022, at 9.30pm. The staff working at the greeting area did her best at welcoming us and explaining that there wasn't food to give to us on the night.
